In response to: Ganking miners - What do you get from it?

Miners are at a terrible disadvantage in EVE. The dilemma, how to maximize your mining output while protecting yourself from lulz gankers.

In the world of predator vs prey, EVE favors the predator every time.

I can prove it: Auto WTZ will never be implemented. Why? Not because it makes it easier for the prey, but because it makes it harder for the predator.

Since mining ships have virtually no offensive capabilities, they should have major defensive ones IMO. Mining ships should be as heavily tanked as Deep Space Transports.

Also, I’ve notice there are no hard launcher points on mining ships....I cant fit missiles. So mining ships are left intentionally squishy.

For some time now I've suspected that the OP is Tom Gerard. This thread makes me certain of it.

Every other ship has to sacrifice something to be able to do something else, why should mining ships be any different?

Nope it'll never be implemented because it's a shite idea

Skiffs and Procurers, together they make up nearly 30% of the mining barges and exhumers currently available.

There's these things called drones, they fit in the drone bay every mining vessel is equipped with, they shoot at stuff.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Two.

Forgot the Skiff...

Which also...

Has this nifty bonus to...

Drones, which is...

A weapon system.

Tank, weapon system, and still able to mine.

Hmmmmm.......

Roll

Did you miss the buff the the procurer hull? 50% drone damage and HP.

Also for everything the trade off is tank vs gank, if your case gank is mining yield.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Why is it that those most opposed to mining buffs are non-miners?

In that case

I demand mining bonuses on all non mining ships and an ore hold

Oh and the Proc hull's tanking and drone bonuses while we are at it

6 million sp in resource processing, and I have a lovely skiff that I mine ice and ore in.

You arent suggesting mining buffs, you are suggesting combat buffs

You want maximum yield with maximum survivability? Sure. I want maximum tank with maximum DPS and maneuverability. When I get mine, you get yours.

Who told you that you could stop nibbling veld long enough to post anyways? Get back out in that belt and feed the hungry children in Jita.

Seriously though, every time a miner cries on the forums 10 suicide gankers are born and another 10 players stop caring and grab the popcorn. Kronos was a good update for mining barges getting some love and unique playstyle changes, and now people are out in low sec killing faction cruisers with Procurers and Skiffs.

I guess you won't be satisfied until you can gank a pirate BS in high sec without getting CONCORDE'd.

Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!  - Freyya

And I have an entire corp of dedicated miner/PI/production characters who mine in....

Wait for it...

Skiffs.

Oh gods, here we go again with the nerf ganking threads.

1. You have to choose, mining yield or tank, you don't get both. In battle, wether pvp or pve, you have to choose between tank or dps, so why should miners have it easy?
2. Everywhere predator has the advantage over prey, why should EvE be any different.
3. WTZ is already implemented, has been for years, you just don't get it when you're not paying attention. Advantage goes to those who actively play the game, not to bots. Again, this is by design.
4. If you put tank on your mining barge and you put combat drones in the drone bay, most gsnkers will leave you alone. This and the Skiff is already tanked heavier than a DST.
5. It's a mining barge, so just no.

Why is it we make assumptions that anyone who disagrees with me has nothing to do with what I'm talking about, regardless of their reasoning or argument?

Also: predator always has advantage. Once they lose advantage and the tables turn, they become prey. And if they never had the advantage to begin with, they are very dumb prey who think themselves predators. *end philosophy lesson*

those opposed to mining buffs usually don't realise that less mining loss's means cheaper minerals meaning cheaper pvp ships.

yet nearly every pvper complains about the increasing costs of pvp ships
