you know, i just thought about a cool way to remedy the little problems like extortion, blackmail, pirates, and scammers. in the future you could add a CONCORD law-and-order system to the game. the game is supposed to run like life in the future right? so add more definitive laws on the minor stuff with punishments like fines, and prison time, and have CONCORD investigations and maybe have the threat of prison to real criminals. perhaps have prison penitentiaries in certain systems so that a heavily armed set of friends can free their friends. have short service times in prison of course. and have court and stuff. that would actually make the game more fun in my opinion. you'd even add more jobs to the game, like lawyer, attorney, and jury-duty. what do y'all think about that?

I like a buzz almost anytime. But not the sort of drugs you are doing.

Just like at Woodstock - Don't take the brown acid.

I'm guessing most laws and arbitration would be handled by independent corporations or sov-holding factions, or a combination of the two, not CONCORD. Concord is an overarching instituon to which there is no direct example of irl.

And no thanks to jury duty, and we already have enough scams in games, we don't need laywers.

The game already provides you with the means to create your own judge, jury, and executioner. It sounds like you need to spend more time taking advantage of current in-game mechanics, before proposing new ones.

This mechanic is geared towards dealing with scams and trolls that are staying inside the terms of service. it came to me because my corp is currently being war-deced and blackmailed for no reason, and there's nothing we can do about it because we can't afford to pay nor can we fight them. a court and prison system like this would give up a fighting chance to abolish this unreasonable war. it would also add yet another level of realism to the game.

Aside from the fact that almost no one wants to role-play a courtroom in Eve, you've got one VERY serious problem: prove to me you were scammed. Pick any given scam that is running in Eve today and show me how you'll definitively prove you were a victim of it.

I think I found the real problem here. And it's not game mechanics.

There is a problem with scams in New Eden?

Only problem I see is that no one seems to fall for it whenever I try to run one. I think we should have a mechanic that forces people to accept my scam contracts, since I am not breaking any kind of rule by running them or (trying to)get people to fall for them.

You want to punish someone for griefing/scamming you? wardec them and kill them.

Your corp isn't tough enough to do so? You can either find a corp that is, or pay a corp that is. I think I heard that PL is taking highsec contracts not to long ago.

Edit: is IEEE still around, or did Zedrick the Entertainer really quick when monaclegate hit?

I had a scam once, but I picked at it too much and it left a scar.

We already have folks who are permitted to run investigations on behalf of CONCORD (Or at the very least, without their intervention with a fee).

The IEEE being one of those arms. Did you have anyone in mind? Our limited manpower and budget does not allow for carte-blanche investigations.
