Ganking miners - What do you get from it?

I adore a killmail one of my miners gained on a wannabe ganker. Apparently 75 hobgoblin IIs can put serious hurt on catalysts...

People are still forgetting that "stats" on a KB are a goal for many players. I'm told that there are a lot of organizations that say "green or GTFO" meaning that when a newer player (or an older one who has had one too many bad FCs) wants to join a "leet" crew, they gotta get their stats up.

Thus for this reason, IMO, highsec has become a PVP incubator of sorts where those who want to get out of it into a PVP career can get the quickest results through suicide ganking instead of playing cat and mouse in lowsec or getting BLOPs-dropped in nullsec. It's in many ways akin to joining a gang whereby they require an applicant to kill somebody.

Bring back DEEEEP Space!

BTW drone assist doesn't work on criminals. You have to manually control the drones to attack. :(

BTW drone assist doesn't work on criminals. You have to manually control the drones to attack. :(

This was changed in Kronos 1.1 to avoid Limited Engagement Timer with a criminal who might happen to innocently wander into your mission deadspace or belt. I'm not sure that removal of the mechanic is a good thing.

Edit: Would it work with Safety turned off?

I didn't try it with safety off. That's a valid point though.

Will yellow or something work? I'm just worried that a stray hob or something might hit one of my own or something stupid.

I think the more important question than, "Why do gankers gank in a video game about spaceship violence?"....

Is the one that no one EVER talks about.

That is a far more interesting question. The "Why does one gank?" thing has been done to death. Hell, we are at the point where one thread cannot even die off before two more pop up. Filled with much of the same described in the question I formulated above.
