Cigars and tobacco to NES store

Sometimes I have seen photos of men who smoke cigar and smile broadly. I started thinking cigars and tobacco would make excellent addition to New Eden Store.

There could also be eye patches for pirate life capsuleers.

Comments are welcome for my ideas.

Simply no.

CCP should not endorse or promote ,by this game, using any illegal substances by kids.

Just a reminder for all people :

If you establish an Account, you represent that you are an adult thirteen (13) years of age or older and are either accepting the EULA on behalf of yourself or on behalf of your child, in which latter case you agree to the EULA with regard to your child and represent that you are also personally bound by the EULA.

So eve cannot promote using cigarettes or any other drugs from real world , as eula is allowing to play this game also for kids starting at age 13.

I'm aware we have drugs in eve - but they don't have any connection to real world items.

... did you forget that boosters exist or something? Every one one of which has a real world analogue?

You're also saying its perfectly fine to encourage "kids" to murder hundreds of thousands of civilians for the sake of stealing all their possessions to either sell or melt down into usable materials, then build ships and modules out of said materials. All while flying around with exotic dancers, slaves, booze, tobacco, and other such "illegal" products in their cargo holds, all while calling other players any combination of any number of slurs.

Seriously, what game are you playing?

This is all moot, though, as all I've ever been able to see of the new cash shop is "service unavailable."

The above was written and posted with nothing but love in my heart for all.

Do you see characters consuming combat boosters in the avatars? Roll

Brace yourself for EU law and nasty pictures slapped over 60% of your avatar to discourage smoking and drug consumption. Twisted

There are similar laws in the US. I don't want to have to slap gigantic health warnings all over my portrait just because I "might" be promoting tobacco products.

Never mind that anything aimed at people under the age of 18 (like a video game) is banned from promoting tobacco products in any way over here. Sticking an "AO" (adults only) rating on a game is the fastest way to totally kill your sales here in the states regardless of why the rating is there.

If they are to add cigars, then I would also require a monocle (a true monocle not the cybernetic implant) and a stylish walking stick. Maybe a top hat and tails too. Oh and a big glass of fine brandy. So very dapper, eh chaps?

A counterpoint to both of yalls is the only way to trip those law sets would be to have underage looking avatars and/or cartoon characters drinking and smoking combined with documented proof CCP is targeting underage demographics with their product.

EVE avatars strive for realism, EVE's target demographic is solidly the over 18 crowd, and unless I've just been missing the "little boy/girl" checkbox in character creation for the last eleven years, I think CCP is in the clear on all that. As its perfectly fine to have legal aged characters drink, smoke, and shoot up anything pretty much anything in any sort of media production, just so long as it is targeting adults.

Worst that could happen is some free publicity from demented pensioners/boomers screaming about moral panic on dailymail and fox. Publicity being something EVE desperately needs at this point.

Again, though, somewhat moot, as the only product the new cash shop has ever offered me is "service unavailable."

EVE is rated ESRB Teen/Pegi 12. Go figure. Blink
