It is better to just unsub your indy chars, or if they are unsubbed already, let them lapse.
I did it a couple years ago.

I do miss them sometimes, like now when I can't fully test the current disaster on Singularity.

But ultimately, you have to choose.
Do you wish to continue to give CCP cash, or do you want to send the strongest message they will understand?

On singularity I can put a pos, a compressor, a weeks fuel (that will last me months) a skiff and a viator in my alts orca, fly that to any stationless dead end backwater system (that on tranquility would be empty of both competition and gankers), drop the pos, online the compressor, stick the orca and runner in the nearest station, and the mine all day with the skiff straight to the compressor, and at the end of the day, take the orca to remove everything, and then run the blockade runner to a station that isn't 4-4 in jita to switch to a full tank occator for the drop off, which is a bit more tolerant of my other-side-of-the-world lag for the 4-4 docking ring.

IMO highly convenient, very gank resistant, and the orca can MWD/cloak warp off the gates enroute getting there.

Same tools are also handy for sniping some "H's" and some jaspet from low - just leave the orca at the edge, bring a covops to scout, use the viator to setup the pos and mwd/cloak the skiff in and then use a depot to fix its fit.

I personally can't fault CCPs upcoming toolset for the loss averse miner, or the risky miner.
---

Also as a result of the upcoming changes, I'm going to yank my highsec research pos, because I just won't need it for invention, copying my BPOs to send bpcs to null or researching me anymore.

I also cannot fault CCPs upcoming toolset for the new player, as thats very new indy friendly (easy access to copy and material research for everyone).
---
ie the patch is better for everyone except the advanced highsec industrialist that wants to have an unrivalled to-market advantage over nullsec, which to me is and always has been absurd.

Themepark carebears and their logic. I love threads like this Big smile

Without ganking their would be no EvE Online. You can't have a sandbox mmo-rpg game without non-consensual PvP. You can't add a new feature in a sandbox mmo-rpg game without non-consensual PvP. It's not possible.

EvE Online is a complex sandbox mmo-rpg game, it's all about Player vs Player interactive competition, Gathering Resources, Manufacturing and Destruction, it's all Player vs Player, even when you're logged out.

And there a good reason for this to happen.

There is a cycle of life in sandbox mmo-rpg games. Like a said before, Gathering Resources, Manufacturing and Destruction, all of them are interconnected to each other and without them, the game is broken. All are equally important and can't work without each other. It's an ecosystem, if you break a part of the cycle, you break the game.

What happened to the great sandbox mmo-rpg called Ultima Online, the developers created a safe haven in the game for carebears, with this change the cycle was broken, no more "Destruction" so their was no need for "Manufacturing" and obvious, no need for "Gathering" either. The game died, just like that.

So prise the ganker, because without them, there would be no game.

The 3 Ms that make this show run are now being boycotted.
All miners, manufacturers and marketers cease your activities immediately.
Go mission. Mission. Mission. Mission.

When the gankers LEAVE, or CCP WAKES UP, we'll then resume putting
those all-important goods on the shelves for player consumption.

UNTIL THEN, we have standings to raise, security status to raise,
and we can live off what we get doing that OTHER M - MISSIONING.

The boycott is up. Join, or be the author of your own demise - aid the gankers ganking YOU.

Being a ganker myself I agree with OP. My destroyer BPOs will in best case start actually yielding money, otherwise they will just be supplying me with an unlimited number of ships. You dont seem to be aware that some of the people ganking are alts/mains of industrialists? But again, stop your own income and you will reduce the risk of getting ganked in your worthless ships.

Most manufacturers in eve are like the French in the arms industry. They'll sell to anyone, and if they can sell to both sides in a conflict then all the better. This proposal has no legs. Sorry but there it is.

I have only read the first post, but....

BAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

if this really is in effect in a widespread way, that just means it's time to fire up my indy alts who haven't been doing much.

Also give 'em all Iterons between batches.

....not that you're really going to have that much of an effect, because of so many people like me.

hmm, interesting, but not even close.

It's already been proven that replacement ships from hi-sec ganking are only a drop in the flood of materials in Eve. The majority of hi-sec materials go to Sov to build/replace cap ships in Sov. Second is amount of materials used to build replacement ships for FW in low sec, mostly made in hi-sec. A years worth of Hi-sec rettie's and catty gank replacement ships wont even take enough material thas used to replace the titans and caps lost in just one battle in Sov.

Hi-sec ganking adds nothing to industry but takes out of circulation large amounts of material and goods needed to be sent to the front lines of Sov and FW. When the flow is slowed or interupted, then Sov/FW pew pew slow downs. When Sov/FW pew pew slows down, Eve dies a little.

Hi sec gankers are not the life blood of the Eve economy, they are the death nell of it.

How can that be if they only cause a drop in the flood of materials. You can't have it both ways dude.

You do realise that a decent percentage of highsec ganks are carried out by nullsec entities attacking their enemies supply lines? Denying an enemy their supplies is a valid military tactic that has been used for hundreds of years.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

There's so much tinfoil here, its disrupting radar

Your "large" amounts of material are as small as your own claims of the value of ganking ships and mining ships lost.

Your point is oxymoronic, Im afraid.
