Or are our spaceships incapable of atmospheric flight limiting it to small "winged" spacecraft only?

I believe that according to the lore tritanium cannot exist in atmospheric environments. So they'd all just explode.

Then we should be firing "atmosphere" at each other for maximum damage?

Worst lore justification I've heard to date.

Most people have only hot air to shoot anyway.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

This is true for raw tritanium, but it's alloyed in starship manufacturing. Did the Titan that crashed on Caldari Prime explode?

Yes.

Into itty bitty pieces.

Thus the devastation.

No, no it didn't.

It's a little late in your life for those kind of explanations, you should have at least picked up the basics for yourself by now.

It wouldn't even fall gracefully. It'd be a kind of docking I guess.

Now someone go and calculate what height we need to drop potatoes to have them finished when we catch them.

the space elevator station we saw in the vision trailer long time ago would be some form of docking at a planet i suppose.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

If CCP announced a walking on planets expansion, the overvocal mouthbreathers would just throw another tantrum and shoot it down like they did with Incarna/WiS. Maybe throw in a few references to 'WoW in space' or that CCP is trying to be LucasArts or somesuch nonsense.

As much as I would love to see new gameplay opportunities like Incarna or planetary interaction (real interaction, not just the planet mining we have now), with the state they were forced to leave previous attempts to innovate in would you trust CCP to actually deliver a worthwhile and complete planetary interation expansion?

Most likely I'd land on a planet with my hopes and dreams ahead of me, imagining the possibilities of what I could accomplish in this new environment. I'd step out of our vessel to an amazing view of a BladeRunner-esque dystopia, steam rising from vents that provide a little warmth and makes my skin moist.

Despite this I feel my palms sweating as I scan the shadows and alleyways in anticipation of being accosted or mugged. My pulse races as I near my goal: a seedy strip club that I've agreed to meet my contact in. Approaching the door, pulse rising and alert for treachery I take a deep breath, grip the rusty handle and turn.

The door doesn't open. Too late I notice a poster of CCP Fozzie's face on the wall. The words burn into my mind, "Get back in space you noob and lose your freighters lololol"

I cry.

From what I have seen, Eve ships are not capable of interacting with planets. They must be out of phase or something, they just fly right through them. Until the Jove tell us how to fix this I fear we will never be able to dock on planets.

It is a bit rubbish you keep blue barring loads of rubbish threads with non-posts. At least try to answer a question now and again please and lower your 'must-post-sarcasm' threshold a tad. Cheers.

If you want to dock/land on planets, look to Star Citizen. You'll be able to do that there. Planets and moons in EVE are hollow. I have a lot of safe spots inside planets and moons. Thats the closest you'll ever get unless they have that in Valkrie.

Only because it got shot a lot, and crashed. Its journey through the atmosphere, to the ground, didn't seem to increase the damage beyond what was already done, until the impact.
