Lord Kithrus cried out in frustration,
"I must one-up Cael's demonstration!"
And in his bid to save time
He ignored rhythm and rhyme
And left himself open to humiliation.

The point was parodys are good but original work is better.
Also knocking spelling is a great tactic till the audience notices you still don't have a good point.

He said "Kithrus! You failed yet again!
Truly you're the least among men,
You're not a poet
And boy, do you show it
You're now banned from using a pen."

I never claimed to be a poet... ever. I despise parody's in any form. See here's the part that would shock you...

Your work is better then mine granted. Lest you made it which is what makes it good.

Now what would make it better is if you could EVER make a single IGS post or Summit comment without it be a propaganda laden spike.

As odd as it sounds I do let my hair down... Lest when I'm in a clone that has long hair which has been a while.

Darkness is more then absence of light, it is ignorance and corruption. I will be the Bulwark from such things that you may live in the light. Pray so my arms do not grow weary and my footing remain sure.

If you are brave, join me in the dark.

But the sad, pathetic thing is, you consider any post I make that expresses an opinion or theory you disagree with as a "propaganda-laden spike".

Thank you all for the kind comments and feedback, especially Lord Vaari himself deeming something stupid, that is high praise indeed!

Just a few things I'd like to clear up.

I suppose a free artist like yourself doesn't taker commissions, for the sake of freedom of speech and all?

I wouldn't take commission as I couldn't work to someone else's standards of "Write this, don't write that"

I can't really take requests either as the songs come purely as inspiration.

Disgraceful slander.

You mean you don't fight for the Empire against the Matari, you haven't been in Golden Fleets, seen great victories and defeated many enemies?

I apologise Sir, I hope you can see that some inaccuracies were as I said, intended for comical effect. No malice intended.

Besides, how many people can claim to have left such an impression on someone that they wrote a song about them?

Morwen Lagann wrote:
Though I do have to ask... where's the verse about Mitara?

And why haven't your earlier works had some IGS exposure yet? Blink

I couldn't write about every PIE pilot, that simply make the song too long.

As for my earlier stuff, none of it really had the amount of care and thought put into it that this one did, a couple were actually written in a single night. So I've left that as filler material for parties and other social events.

I won't lie, it showed. I'm not quite sure how original it is when you're going off a traditional poetic style (which is suppose to be AABBA) but please keep practicing your creativity, there was sign of potential! Honestly to go lyrical in responce to one of my songs is a great compliment, it shows you took the time to make a creative response, so thank you.

Just a note though, don't call someone on their rhyming and use some of the worst examples of assonance at the same time, unless you were being sarcastic, in which case kudos Sir, kudos.

This seems oddly familiar

Interesting, that was written long before my time as a Capsuleer, it's the first I've heard of it!

The lyrics however are very different.. infact I'm not sure what the Pie is in his song... or what half of it's even about.

Oh and Andy, apologies but I'll pass. I'm not marriage material.

If you had bothered to actually read the limerick, you would see that my point was that you might not be cut out for poetry given your issues with, as stated in said limerick, and, I quote: "rhythm and rhyme."

I said absolutely nothing about spelling or grammar - you are the first to bring the subject up. There is absolutely no point in ragging on someone's spelling (in)abilities when they don't actually make any spelling mistakes in the post that you're responding to. Which, I will happily note, you hadn't.

Of course, if I really felt like picking on your spelling, I would be using your latest post as ammunition.

That's because I have never hear you one utter any words that didn't praise your nation or try to knock at mine.

Praise the heavens the day you come onto the IGS and ask someone about the topic of I don't know.... coffee and what tastes best with it.

Just bring up the subject of burly gentlemen. If that's legal in the Empire.

Then you obviously don't pay very much attention to the IGS. Then again, you don't seem to pay very much attention to anything, so that's not really a massive surprise. Then again, I don't clearly remember seeing any posts where you weren't dodging questions, denying self-evident facts or lying through your teeth - but that doesn't mean they don't exist, right?

Heh, right.

I like my coffee strong but white (semi-skim) with at least one sugar. I enjoy strong, rich flavour from authentic beans, well-ground, as opposed to that pre-packaged freeze-dried tasteless synthetic garbage they try to sell you at QuafeSnacks or Caldari Provisions. As for what goes best with it? High-coaco dark chocolate - you know, the kind that's bitter at the first bite, but gets sweeter as you chew? Or milk chocolate ice cream - vanilla or coconut flavour is also acceptable.

That said, a nice oat biscuit isn't too bad, if we're getting rustic here.

Now if we're talking liqueur coffee, though... that changes the game. They're already pretty sweet so you want something to offset the sweetness a little - there's these weird sort of savory cracker-type things that I can't remember the name of, you melt a little bit of mild or medium cheese on those, bite down, chew a while and swallow and then take a swig of your liqueur coffee while the taste's still in your mouth. That's divine.

Namas, Evanda! I haven't seen you in ages! How've you been doing? We should catch up sometime!

Perhaps over a coffee.

I'll admit I was hesitant to even look over this posting. I had expected it to simply be the usual bickering from two sides who refuse to entertain the thought of compromise. Though I have to say the lyrics are witty and the tune, at least the one I hear when I read the words to myself, is nice, so well done Mr. Marellus. I look forward to eventually hearing this sung at some point, and who knows, perhaps an Amarrian will rise to the challenge and put forth a proper counter song.

I embrace all forms of self expression, and find the song quite delightful.

If there will be another show in the near future, and I'm allowed to, I'd like to see it presented in person.

Well thank you folks for the feedback. I must admit it has motivated me to write more on several subjects.

Andreus, are you any good at rapping by chance? I could use a guest vocalist on one of these project.

Ahh, Cael.

Been a long time since flew and bickered together, but I still remember that wonderful song you wrote about Lilly. Nice to see that you haven't lost your touch.

To all my fellow Khanid and compatriots in the Empire... good God, lighten up. It's a song. You don't have to agree with the message or the politics of the author to laugh. The Praetorians do like to hold themselves up, and anyone who does that opens themselves to this kind of thing. True or not, slander or not, it doesn't matter. It's entertainment. The day you can't laugh at yourself is the day you forget you're human and fallible - the start of hubris and sin, according to the scriptures, no?

Really, we'd be far more popular around the cluster if we didn't take ourselves quite so seriously...
