Drone DPS dropped, have i missed something?

It's interesting that all but 3 of the people who replied to this post had thousands of likes yet provided no content aside from low level sarcasm. The one person with likes still in single digits nailed it hard with no attitude.. It's like the worlds gone upside down in GD as always :D

To be fair, you were so deliberately vague with "DPS in a drone only ship i own has dropped by about 25% since the last time i was in it" that you might as well have painted a target on the thread.

If you had specified the ship and drone layout, it would have been simple to help you. By not providing even basic context/information, those people who are inclined to provide help couldn't do so without a significant amount of guessing (i.e. provide a lot of their time.) Why should anyone spend a lot of time helping someone if that someone can't be bothered to take a little time/effort to provide basic context?

And it sure as heck didn't help that you know what the "correct answer" was (i.e. read the patch notes.) If you had attempted to read the notes and then made the claim that you didn't understand them and needed clarification, then folks would have been more likely to be helpful instead of sarcastic.


tl;dr - OP was rude. OP doesn't have the moral high ground. OP should apologize.

To be fair, you'd said it had been a "long time" since you'd been in the ship, and alluded to numerous patches having happened since then.

Geckos are about six weeks old, since which there's been one major patch, so guessing that you were using geckos didn't really fit what you told us.

Just to clarify ...

Aside from two cases - Gecko's and T2 sentries WITHOUT Racial Spec trained to V - both of which lost DPS, the DPS of everything T1 should have gone up and non-sentry T2 stayed pretty much the same.


EDIT:

The other big exception, light and medium drones on the Ratlesnake.

No that's correct. If you want to fully preserve your old dps you probably need the new faction drone damage amps. None have dropped for me, so my dps is down right now.

Hmmm....has it been a long time since you've posted in GD?

Maybe you should have read the GD patch notes.

Fozzie's numbers for T2 sentries indicated that only Gardes and Bouncers should have gone down, curators and wardens up. I haven't verified the math though.

Anyway, i think it's going to come down the the specific drones used. The patch notes say dps goes down due to the bonus from the Drone Interfacing skill, but the loss will be covered by increasing the base damage of most drones.

I can only imagine i'm using drones (not sentry) that have not recieved the dps increase, and so i get much lower dps cus i'v lost half my DI bonus..


I've noted over the years, as you are now aware, that the bulk of posts on the General forum are focused more on broadcasting the poster's assumed level of "cleverness" at the expense of actual information content.

It is more important for the poster to be clever, than it is for them to be helpful.

Dogs are good at providing unconditional companionship and licking their nether regions.

Not much difference from General if you ask me.
