So what the worst (or one of the worst) decisions you've made on EVE?

I think mine was when I decided to take a battleship into a Class 3 WH ( I think it was a Class 3) to protect a small group of miners; It was a planned op, and I was the only 'security' person to show up. I didn't have anything capable of handling the WH rats other than a Battleship, so I figured, what the hell?

Needless to say, I was baited with a Nereus and ganked near the wormhole exit. I still don't know if the killers had been watching us the entire time or not. It was a complete fail on my part due to a serious lack of experience and bad decisions.


Although the miners did make it out, the fallout of the loss would lead to a 'ban' on WH operations, which led to the breakup of the corp itself.

Mining Jaspet in low-sec with a Omen. I think I got one refine worth of it before some Pilgrim came over and popped me.

Mine is actually pretty simple.

Background: I started eve shortly after launch in 2003, mined and built, got my first Dominix, Megathron, then Covetor when the mining barges came out, was a near-perfect skilled Ishtar pilot and such around the time I quit.

I returned 4-5 years later, decided to jump straight into 0.0 to give me more fun in the game and I ended up in a renter-corp in the drone lands out by Oasa. I flew a few of my ships out there and joined my corp in mining and ratting.

One night whilst ratting, I dropped my 6year old, self-built dominix into the corp pos, got my itty and went out cleaning up the last of the goodies, it was late and I went to bed, was going to grab my dominix tomorrow.

When I returned tomorrow, someone had stolen several of the ships out of the ship hanger on the POS (never found out who). Now the loss of a dominix to me really didn't matter, ISK wasn't in short supply, but I felt a particular attachment to that Domi, which was 6+ years old and had built myself back in the days when it was a sign of experience and wealth to own a battleship and I was proud to get my bpc and create my own.

I still miss my original domi, which some dirtbag probably repackaged and sold on the market, erasing it's history and my fond memories with it.

Forgetting to upgrade my medical clone after podding myself to Jita for Burn Jita, leading to the eventual loss of JDC V after getting caught on the Perimeter gate with a suspect flag...

Family, job, sleep, EVE. Pick three.

Attack a small tower in a C2 with a 2.5b ISK PvE Tengu. I don't know what I was thinking; I had a cheaper PvP Drake available in the system.

It was of course a trap, and our little fleet was completely decimated.

On the plus side, we convo'd them, paid them 100m to tell us what we were doing wrong, and had a great conversation that probably lasted for two hours. Learned a lot that day.
