Not sure if this was ever discussed, it probably was.

So I'm trying to fit a ferox to support other cruisers/deso/frigates.

I was thinking of filling the highs with neuts and a few Shield RR's
While passive tanking it, and maybe a cap booster.

Would this make for a good fleet ferox? suggestions on anything please, thank you.

The role you have laid out for it, while useful, may not be the best use of a Ferox hull. Neut/RR ships generally have short range, so you need the mobility to keep up with the ships you're supporting. While not as slow as a Battleship, the Ferox isn't exactly nimble.

I'd consider an ASB-boosted Cyclone instead if your skills allow it.

Only caldari skills atm, I could probably fit a MWD and pulse, if I can fit it.

You will be generally useless as a Remote Rep ship since you have no range bonus and are painfully slow and thus wouldn't be able to stay in range to heal things, even assuming you could work out a RR Ferox fit that wasn't massively gimped.

A Rail Ferox can put out pretty good damage with enough range to compensate for its awful mobility and is an absolute brick compared to most other things you're going to see on a small roam, so I'd consider that if your friends don't mind waiting for someone who warps slower than them. You also have a utility high available for a medium neut, depending on how good your fitting skills are.

If you really like being a utility pilot, there are better hulls for that.
Imo, the Ferox is not the 'best' at anything it does. Yet I like flying them for something different sometimes.
Fit for DPS, add a target painter to help your whole fleet. And maybe a link mod.

It's kind of funny that it's five posts deep before someone mentions a Link. BCs are one of the few ships that can fit them, but they never really seem to get used in such a capacity. Obviously Command Ships are much better in this regard, but for a cheap option, it wouldn't be terrible.

@OP: Warfare Link, that's basically the support you provide with a BC, other than DPS.

Using a single category of T1 Link effectively requires like three weeks of training Charisma skills, so it's not really a great casual option for people looking to play around with fits. It also doesn't help that T1 Battlecruisers tend to be painfully cramped for grid, so actually using that utility high can be hard for the non-AWU V / Shield Upgrades V crowd.

That said, if you've got it, a T1 Skirmish link can be a pretty handy boost to a small gang.
