A special freighter skin that looks like an explosion would be excellent.

It would be like camouflage.

This is true, CCP have released a video of the skin designer (it looked really good), so using walking in station as a guide it should take 3-5 years. This will include several versions being scrapped, CCP reinventing the definition of 'colour' and the final products having 4 shades of grey to choose from.

You forgot re-purposing GPUs into thermonuclear reactors.

OP at present ship skins are a trial run to gauge interest, we should see the process of applying them become more straightforward and the range expanded if they prove to be popular (18 months™).

Cap skins and supercap skins would be so goddamn awsome. The problem is that you don't replace said ships on a weekly basis, so CCP won't be rolling in Aurum.
