so i was thinking about using drugs but the negative effect of them seems to out way the pros because when shtf and i need to do a line of crash it might make my death all more worse but it might make me live any ideas and suggestions to this?

i know there have been major talk about this in the past csm seen here https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Combat_boosters_revamp_%28CSM%29

but I dont see the plans of them changeing it any time soon.

so any tips?

Train up Nuerotoxin Control and Neurotoxic Recovery to minimize the risk of side effects and their severity.

There's also implants that add to these effects.

Score your gear from a good dealer (like me Blink).

Remember that you only have a chance of getting a negative, but the Bonus is fixed. Use a fit, that doesnt care for one or more of the negative effects.

With full skills you can usually use standard boosters with regularity and only get the side effects on occasion. Try to also fly ships where the side effects won't matter. i.e. - My Corax is already slow, doesn't care about armor hp, and doesn't active shield tank. The missile velocity penalty is the only really bad penalty in my mind.

You should not believe everything you read in the internet.

Those side effect you are so afraid of may or may not occure but they will not last as long as the booster itself lasts.

A few years ago they tried to revamp boosters which ended up as everyone only used the strong booster pills as mandatory equipment on SiSi or in over words, it was a desaster.

Wait what? I've been using drugs for over a year and nobody told me this? What the hell! How long do they last?

I've only once had negative side effects that actually sucked. Popped drugs for turret falloff and got a tracking penalty, proceeded to not hit a single thing the rest of the fight. Fml. Doesn't happen often though, usually you get side effects and when you look at what they are you just say "lol who cares" things like tracking penalty while using missiles.

If you do drugs, you dont rly care about the losses anymore but the pvp is much more intense. The next day you could be in for a shock thou

I think we're talking in game drugs. In other news, I agree with your signature.

I just assumed the penalties lasted as long as the drugs did. And I usually only check once to see if I even got penalties, so I never noticed them expiring before the drug. That's good to know though.

They are terrible at everything except creating bridges. They use regular cloaks and not covert ops cloaks, they get no benefits to lock delay after decloaking (so they decloak and sit around looking like idiots for several seconds before starting their battleship grade lock cycle). They end up being used as blops bridges and occasionally blops FC's let them shoot at stuff, but only when the fight is already won and they are there to just get on killmails to feel better about the fact that they put so much time into training to be a short range taxi service. (yes the range got buffed, which is a start) Overall, imo, blops are really underwhelming.

Blops drops (with the actual ships jumping, not bridging in other recons) are very common in lowsec. It's a valid tactic that is very effective, get a bait Proteus to roam around, agress something, point 2 of them, light a covert cyno, drop your blops fleet and get out when everything is dead. It's quick, dirty and effective, trust me, I've been on the receiving end of it quite a few times.

I haven't flown enough in lowsec to see that, but it seems pretty scary.

Glad I could help!

I found that out once when I had that capacitor penalty and I was checking how long the booster took to wear of but when I checked the penalty was long gone and I had like 26 minutes left with problem, everything was fine.

What I don't know for sure is, if it is five or ten minutes you have to life with side effects.

So long enough you're screwed in the current fight, but not totally boned. That's awesome. Next time I get side effects I'll try to see. (Assuming I don't get podded before they expire)

Side effects are extremely rare, I use Strong boosters pretty much every fight I get in, get a single side effect probably 1/20 of the time, never even really notice I have a side effect either to be honest, they really don't effect you much to be honest

Using standards i get them every 3rd time at least with the needed skilled trained to lvl4.Most of the times it's just one or two minor things and about every 10th time it's so much side effects i'm better off continuing to stationspin.
