Yes, that could fall under the general "gatecamp" category. However, a gate camp can be made of 2-3 players, or it could be made of dozens of them.

The general term is linked with an activity of staying at a gate for a longer period of time (from 10 minutes to several hours, depending on how much free time you have) with intention to catch and kill anything that jumps through. Usually a cloaked member of your gatecamp gang is somewhere near the the other side of the gate keeping you informed of what will come through, so you can move temporarily if an overwhelming fleet is coming your way.

If you are actively searching for targets in multiple systems without holding in one particular system for a long time, that activity is called "Roaming".

At which point in the past 11 years ppl were camping gates with full doctrine BS fleets ? BS were costing 10 mill each back there ? Smile

Probably around the time they did it in titans. Which was about 3 years ago.

We used to use the term "camping" back in the early days of FPS games were everybody wanted to be the sniper. You would sit endlessly in a hidden position waiting for someone cross your path and bam! End of story.

It's fairly recent, just with a low resolution settings in the client and some off-standard menu appearance choices.

Man, I don't know what it is with people and their drakes. It seems like it doesn't matter how specific the doctrine is, there's always this one guy....this one guy..that asks if he can bring a drake.
