Not sure if those guides mention it. But WH's are very hostile. 99.999% of the people you find inside will want to kill you, I will help a noob out.. but anyone with a kill to his name will be a target . WH dwellers tend to be very paranoid as they tend to get jumped a lot. Some basic things, Always remember to BM the inside of the wh, always have a probe, so you can get back out if the wh collapses and if possible always have a cloak and learn to use dscan, and set your overview to see bubbles, probes and bombs, warp if you see these . most importantly.. trust NO ONE, ie if someone offers to help you out, they may fleet you so you can warp to them, and they sitting in an Onyx, or other HIC, or you see some bubbles in the overview, its a trap.
also good to know... you can jump through a WH from 5km away. Always wait out your session timer, have to set this up. But it you jump into a wh, even if there are hostiles, wait out timer, and you can almost always jump straight out again. Do not move while you waiting out the time.

Mission Guides - This will tell you what anoms, etc there are in the wh's to run. Anything up to a C3 you can solo in a drake, take a salvager, a C3 anom can get you on average 30mil, but you need to salvage to get the melted nano ribbons. Search for ship fits as you need to omni tank.

staticmapper - Will tell you what type of wh it is and how many kills have taken place. Prior to new patch it would give you jump information, always handy to know how many have visited recently, but it is no longer there.
