Good and Evil don't exist in Eve.

Not true.

I'm good, the rest of you all are evilP

Some player groups like to crudely style themselves as good guys or bad guys. Most player groups like to style their opponents as bad guys. Feel free to fall for any of it, or not, but in the end we're all just gamers. Despite that, we've managed to make some pretty compelling history to tell.

This.

If you are part of Alliance A which is at war with Alliance B. Alliance A will claim alliance B are the bad guys, the opposite happens in the alliance B.

But the fun part, that for 99.99% of the time, if both alliance members would meet in a bar, they will have a drink, loads of fun and lots of good stories.

I was PM'd on here to join a PvP corp, but never heard back from him. Not so sure I replied properly haha.

Although nice they noticed you, keep in mind...Do your research, don't just join them because they approached you.

Find out who they are, what they do, when they play and most of all, if they suit you.

I'm really starting to like this community. Awesome to see so many people willing to help newcomers.

@Sabriz Adoudel: I think the Nullsec sovereign warfare sounds like my kind of thing (at least starting off). Massive fights with lots of ships involved just sounds like fun, but also a good way for me to get my butt kicked.

@Daniel Plain: What classifies as expensive ships? Out of the few I've seen so far, I have my eyes set on the Megathron (admittedly because of the looks) and I think it runs around 4mil. Not sure if that classifies as expensive.

If you want to get involved in nullsec sovereign warfare, I'd honestly recommend Brave Newbies, but be aware that this will close other doors as people have stated here. Just accept that.

The big powers in sovereign null that have room for newbies are Goonswarm (who recruit outside the game, on the Something Awful forums, and do not usually recruit in-game), the various 'renter' coalitions (who pay the real big powers to protect them), and the up-and-coming Brave Newbies and HERO coalition. Renting isn't for you as you'll miss out on the big fights.

Just be aware that there's a good chance of a war between Hero and Goons, and Hero aren't well positioned if that occurs. But that's fine - they'll definitely win some battles even if they lose the war, and there'll be lots of opportunities for fun fights. Losing can be hilarious fun.

As the title says, I'm brand new to EVE Online with a 30 day trial and looking for some help and guidance as I learn to play as well as determine if this is a game I want to continue to play. I'm not new to MMO's, but am definitely new to this one. The idea of EVE intrigues me a lot, but it seems very in depth and somewhat complex and some guidance would be most appreciated.

I'm wondering if there are any corporations full of people that would be willing to assist and provide guidance as well as answer all of my annoying newb questions. A "mentor" of sorts wouldn't be so bad either. :-)

I just got the game, so I'm sure I will need to go through a tutorial first, but I'm sure I will have tons of questions during the tutorial as well as after the tutorial. Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read my long (and most likely incoherent) post.

Graph of what you can do

Here is a well known graph of the things you can do in eve - maybe a little dated but it should give you an idea or two.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.
