Funding my pvp.

So I'm a merlin pilot and I'm looking for ways to fund my pvp without the much needed grinding of missions.

Should I train into PI and set up planets in lowsec near jita? And how much would my net income per day be?

Thanks to CCP XZibit You can fund your PVP while doing PVP in your PVP by PVP-ing if you do some plexing in FW. Plus the loot everyone you kill drops.

I wouldn't recommend doing solo FW in a T1 frigate, though. I recommend a Faction Navy Frigate, at the very least, or an Assault Frigate.

I just undocked for the first time and someone challenged me to a duel. Wat do?

I suggest Faction Warfare. That can keep you in your ships fairly easily.

That or join a corp with a frigate SRP.

Join Faction Warfare, make ISK while PVP-ing. You can easily get a few 100 Million ISK per month without even trying to make ISK.

Well, I have a couple thousand LP in FW but I wasn't very into the whole FW pvp, and I'm pretty new to pvp. I've been doing 1v1's so far to get used to it, then I'll move on to small gangs. But I want to know one of the best ways to be self-sufficient without relying on a corp or other people to fund what I lose.

Everything here is true but the case of "you need a faction or T2 frig". Merlins are perfectly able to capture most of the FW complexes when you dont get a fight and when you get a fight they´re perfectly able to put up a fight.
You might want to set up a base in lowsec though. You will still die a lot and the worst thing that can happen to you, that would totally kill your fun, is having to go back to highsec every time you have to reship.

Wait for others to gank and steal that one.

Latter works great solo, usually doesn't take a lot of time too.

Hek-Dodixie route. Try it. Successfully stole a few hundred mill already in less than an hour.
Just needs the same patience gankers have.

Thanks. They're all constantly changing so I can improve.

I like this one too. Even resculpted finally for a PLEX. You should see the others,
they are nice too. I really like Felicity's new portrait and Solitaire's.

Not to mention all the others...

Lol.. this is what we call bad advice.

You can farm FW plex's all day long in a T1 frig and a couple of warp stabs and only lose your ship if you are half asleep, very drunk, high, dead and even then its difficult.

I wasn't arguing against them not being capable, but generally, you stand a better chance to win a fight in a higher quality frigate. I used to use an Atron, then a Comet (with which I managed to score a 1v2 kill) and as of a few hours ago I can fly an Ishkur and I plan on doing just that.

I'd suggest not listening to the farmers and instead trying to make ISK in a way that actually involves others... and fun.

Or at least one of these two.

That's stupid. Like minmaxers do, who gather isk to spend it to gather more ISK.

Oh I forgot to mention.

What you need to look out for are Vexors sitting at gates.

These mostly are gankers and you can always find one on the hek-dodixie route.

Why?

At the end of the day if you want to earn isk you might as well do it in the easiest and quickest way possible as it leaves more time to go pew pew.

He wasn´t asking how to waste his time. He wants to pvp and fund his pvp while doing pvp. You cant pvp in a stabbed frigate. You dont need stabs to capture complexes.

You take a pvp frigate and go out and hunt people in complexes. From time to time you will find one that is almost finished and take your time finishing it.

You dont grind and then pewpew. You pewpew and make money at the same time! Dont waste your time with something that is not fun.

If by 1v1s you mean duels and if you want to stay in highsec, Solecist's advice is good.

If you're thinking of lowsec, you'll probably get most 1v1s in FW warzone complexes anyway, so actually joining FW would give you 'free' ISK as well.

The OP said he's trying 1v1s.

It takes time to find 1v1s, you usually have to roam a few systems, dscan plexes, check for a good match trying to avoid 1v many, or sit in a plex and wait for someone to come in.

If you don't want to 'farm' ISK but get just what you need to fund your pvp, fighting+plexing at the same time is actually the most time-efficient and less boring way to do it.

All you´re saying is "Do as the farmers do. You will hate yourself and the game after 30 minutes and quit EVE because you think it is soo boring"
