old guys play as new

new guys buy old characters and play as old

everyone's got an alt or three

lots of peeps have more than one account WITH lots of alts

Boys play as girls

the girls sometimes play as boys

The friendly and helpful guy is out to steal your panties and the stuff in your hanger.

The grumpy old git warps in to save your bacon from a ganking

Trust everyone, but trust no one.

Welcome everyone, but get a police check done and a sample of thier DNA before you give them the keys to your hanger and corp assets.

First thing with any new player that joins a player corp, don't give them any roles this works both ways, one makes you feel better and less paranoid for awhile at least and secondly makes it easy for them to leave if they don't like it in the corp (assuming this hasn't changed).

This has changed.

There is still a 24 hour wait to kick someone from a corporation, but a member can now instantly quit a corporation if they want.
However, if you want to avoid having the NPC corp in your history when your switching corporations (as in have another corporation accept your application while your still in a player run corp and you have roles) you have to wait the 24 hours like you used to from what i have seen.

ALSO .... a Player can not be removed from a corporation unless they are docked. Kicking someone that is continually sitting cloaked and AFK can be very difficult.

Pretty sure when he logs back in after DT he will be kicked. Its eve, trust no one. My first corp had a thief who hung around for over a year before he made his move. so you never can be sure. If you look at all the null shenanigans.. even CEO's and directors switch allegiance at the flip of a coin.
My view is.. if you don't know where the person lives in RL.. don't trust them Blink

Nobody can be trusted in EVE, not even your CEO. A returning player is just like any player from another corp, what's the difference?
Just use common sense, if not you might need some experience in management.

I've given up trying to find a corp. So I've decided to ignore the entire corp system and fly solo for my first year. Once I have a afew million SP up my sleeve I'll come back and start applying again. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they are suspicious of being in an NPC corp for that long too. The entire process excludes newer players from accessing pvp content (outside solo pvp).

Choosing to go solo will definitely limit your growth as a player. There are tons of decent corps out there who can help you grow. Your in game skills is not the only learning required in eve.
Most corps will take new players after they have started subscribing 30+ days old. You will almost always be treated as a suspicious player as that is just the way the sandbox works.

EDIT-- just checked, in your case Tomil I would also be suspicious about recruiting you.. running around as an apparently new player saying you tricked a noob so you can get the jump on him isn't a good start. if you just found him and poped him it would be a different story.. but that's just me :)

Yo. Bro. Everybody could potentially be someone who's trying to infiltrate your corporation for the sake of tearing it to shreds and running off with as many assets as will fit in what hauler they may own. This is supposed to be a good thing. Though, I have yet to be convinced why that could be called "good."

Trust is the most valuable commodity in this game. Those who don't agree aren't really trying to do anything of any import. Those who do agree either agree because they know they're supposed to, or (better yet) agree because they ARE engaged in doing something of some import. They're coordinating. They're delegating. They're financing. They, in fact, are running risk.

Aha! These gankers think THEY'RE running a risk, their poor one-shotted T1 dessy (boo hoo) with THEM in it. They'll TELL you how risky it is to group up with other wannabee thugs and assault defenseless players. BUT, that isn't RISK. What YOU'RE saying is risk. It is in the real world. It is here.

So. Look at it here as you would out there. You're going to have to trust somebody. Just do it in an orderly fashion.

Minimize the risk - if you can.

I've quit and came back many times and it seems to get harder and harder to get into a good corp. I even tell them I don't even want access to your hangars. Still have been refused more times than I can count. Even if it is that I am just looking for people to fly with. Paranoia runs rampant. If I am not interested in your hangars, it must be that I am looking to blow up your ships or something. That is my only guess. I have always been upfront and honest always but still get turned away. That goes for all my pilots I have ever owned and currently own.

Paranoia runs rampant. Does not help returning players or even new players because how can one know if who there recruiting is who/what they say they are? Could be a new player cyno alt for blops fleet to take your shiny

This is the problem, finding a corp is easy, finding a good corp (the right corp for you) is the challenge. I also battled after my first corp died.. but I think I have now found a decent home. For me its about variety, you just need to be clear up front what it is you are after.

Best of luck
