On isk doublers

Greetings,

Isk doublers are basically the most ******** thing that CCP has aloud to happen to their game. In a way, they are kinda symbolic to what eve has become or even was intended to be; an ultra capitalistic no-rules playground.
But they are detrimental to the game and its prestige, and here is why.

First of all it's insanely ******** and bad taste. It's like tell sell tv commercials. New players exposed to it will not want to stick around. But what is worse, new players are so confused and intimidated, partly by the mythos of eve and partly by crap UI, that they wouldn't know what to believe in local chat.
As ******** a concept doubling money is, CCP manages to make sane people fall for it because they are stupendously bad at ui and introducing new people to the game

Secondly, I would argue that those practicing it are either bots or people who don't really enjoy the game and are on their way out. How can you enjoy your vidya game time doing this crap no matter how lucrative it is.

Eve is a sandbox and not a theme park is the circlejerk reaction to this. Ok, but there is no way to self regulate this detrimental behavior. Players have no game mechanic at their disposal to stomp this behavior out , so it's up to CCP.

CCP pls.

Nobody is making you give them the isk. Roll

They do it to see posts like these not to mention make a spaceshitload of isk. Lol

It's one of Eve's easiest intelligence tests. Guess what, you failed.

I hate them simply because they **** up local when it could be an otherwise fun thing to use if your bored while going through the market.

Is literally so easy to avoid. It actually takes more effort to fall for the traps than it does to not. And you can always minimize local.

Sorry, no sympathy.

How could you dislike an Isk doubler? They are so kind, giving isk away for free!

Its the poor few that spoil the bunch .... going after their "kind hearts".

I always thought greed with a side of stupidity is what made people fall for obvious scams. Thanks to the OP, i know now it is because of the '****** ui.'

Thanks for the enlightenment!

Honestly, just close local while you are in the trade hubs and you will never see 99% of the most obvious scams that people atempt to run. You could also avoid the major marekt hubs all together.

It sounds like you've had a ****-poor experience, OP.

Please convo me in-game and I will be happy to introduce you to a real isk doubling game. No bullshit rules and no trickery. Accounts grow fat based on my efforts in the community.

Select player name in local.
Right Click.
Select Block.

Job done... behaviour has been stomped...

Just wait for the next release.
With moons in the system Jita is going to be one locked down system.
The scammers vying for the system count with those looking to take or secure POS locations at the moons.
Look for crashes and many complaints about not getting into to the system from traders, scammers, and POS defenders and attackers.
It is going to awesome.

It's not so bad. There's alot of nice people selling plex relatively cheap. I even seen one go for 400 million. Just make sure you have an extra plex in your hanger or the contract won't go through. I've never figured out why that is, exactly....

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

It's not the scams themselves, it's the fact that there are scam alts afk macro spamming their advertisements in every heavily populated system. I guess afk macro chat spamming is just part of the sandbox. Roll
