Hi,

After beeing away from EVE for a bit, i decided to come back and try some PI.
Just a simpl question, but i can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
Is it possible to extract different resources from 1 planet, or is it a 1 resource per planet type of thing?

Thnx

Yes you can extract more than one ressource.

you need one extractor per type, so for two ressources just put two extractors.

You can extract one type of material per extractor control unit (ECU) that you build. Each ECU uses 2600 powergrid and can have between 1 and 10 extractor heads wich use 550 powergrid each. The total power an ecu with 10 heads uses is 8100.

You are able to extract as many different resources on a planet as you are able to build extractor control units for based on the amount of powergrid you have available.

Generally you sacrifice efficiency for each additional ECU as it's an extra 2600 powergrid used up before you can even start putting down extractor heads to extract the additional resource type. With high enough skill in command center upgrades you can run one ECU with 10 heads and all the factories required to turn your raw materials into basic commodities at which point it starts making sense to add one additional ECU and then balance the amount of heads between the first and second to suit your production needs best.

So basicly, all i have to do is upgrade my command center to let's say level 4 or 5 to be able to put down more extractors?
Thanks a lot for the info :)

Id recommend you look into a guide and that video. PI is fairly simple once you get going but theres a few things to know to get there :)

One thing to bear in mind. Taxes have gone up, so advice which used to be reasonable, isn't any more.

Make sure to run your numbers.

It might not be so efficient to run P0 to P3 on a planet, than P0 to P1, then export to a factory planet, but it reduces the tax burden, increasing per unit profitability (reducing the number of units created though)
