Exploration as Amarr?

Hello all,

I am back after a recent break from EvE. My main focus lies on exploration.

So far I've used HML Tengu in Serpentis lowsec, Ishtar in all regions' lowsec, Loki and Muninn in BR space, Sentry Proteus in Serp null.
I must admit, I don't have perfect skills on sentries and missiles, but they work well enough for any lowsec site.

What I have not used yet is Amarr ships (training cruiser-size + weapons atm), and I really like their lack of ammo problems. This was also true for Ishtar but I'd love to use turrets again.

However, I cannot seem to come up with a single configuration based on energy turrets that can work exploration wise.. The T2/T3 resists are anti-angel, while Angels have 65-75% resists vs Therm-EM.
When I try to build a ship for BR space, the tank doesn't seem to rise much over 300..

I've looked to Stratios but it seems to be way more sentry orientated than laser orientated.

What I'd need is a ship that does passable DPS for ded5/6 (some 400-500) with projection far enough to kill stasis towers.
And ofcourse enough tank to survive a site...

Any advice, or is this simply a "stay away from Amarr" type of expertise?

Amarr and exploration ships, yes, yes. A hard choice, indeed.

The Legion offers a lot of flexibility, especially with the mobile depot at hand, and excells in Blood / Sansha space.

A fit for running Anoms could look like this:

[Legion, Explorer]
Corpum C-Type Medium Armor Repairer
Centus B-Type Armor EM Hardener
Centus B-Type Armor Thermic Hardener
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II

Federation Navy 10MN Afterburner
Cap Recharger II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M

Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M

Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I

Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector
Legion Electronics - Tactical Targeting Network
Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir
Legion Offensive - Liquid Crystal Magnifiers
Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst

However, this has rather limited range, especially when facing some of those nasty TD ships.
I also know that there certainly is a Blood Site where staying in at ~40km to some ships will result in heavy neuting in your face.

But alas, the Legion wouldn't be the Legion if it couldn't find a solution to this!

[Legion, Beam Explorer]
Corpum C-Type Medium Armor Repairer
Centus B-Type Armor EM Hardener
Centus B-Type Armor Thermic Hardener
Heat Sink II

It's basically just the Cap-Recharge for a Cap Battery, and the engineering Subsystem changed, alongside with a rack of Guns. Definately something to keep as spare parts around anyways.
Depot + Travel fit with Cargo Expanders allows for really a LOT of room to carry stuff around.

Tank should be fine for the lowsec stuff imo, i usually ran a Double-Rep Legion back then and never turned on 2 reps at once. Also makes ~capstability~ a pain in the butt to achieve.

Other potential Amarr Exploration Ships:

Absolution + Probing Alt
Curse (Hahahahaha. For highsec maybe. Against Angels. If you know what you're doing.)
Armageddon (Sentries + Cruises for example, ofc navigating a Whale through lowsec gates might give you some adrenaline)
Sacrilege (Legion does it better)
Zealot (Legion does it better)

I'm pretty sure an Apocalypse could do it, too. MJD to victory.
Navy Geddon for sure.

Edit: And the Proph and Damnation could do it, too.

As Requested...

I made this cap stable... i wouldnt fly it stable personally...
booster is as much as you want to pay lol

Your tank really comes from transversal, 1200+ m/s with an AB is nothing to be sniffed at with the tiny cruiser sig.
DPS is a bit low, but depends on how willing you are to pimp

UV gets 553 DPS at 56+19. MF gets 737 DPS at 32+19. That's with all optimal range loaded, which won't always be the case. It's quite honestly over on cap. If you want more tank just upgrade the repper; if you can't get a few A-type MARs without the ship blowing up you're doing it very, very wrong.
