EFT is actually working properly. This bug is present in EVE as well.

To sum it up, because of this resist quirk, you die if any damage so much as touches your ship. Resists over 100% are bad, mmkay?

Reminds me of the Terran superweapon Jamyl Sarum used to stop an attacking Minmatar fleet by collapsing their shields on their own ships. Pretty sweet.
