Help me choose a Race to start with!

  • Hello, like the subject line said, I am trying to figure out which race to start with. I want to mainly do exploring and pvp eventually, but I would like it if I can do some mining on the side to build my own gear.

    Any race can do anything all it changes is starting system a few lv1 skills and the Npc corp, otherwise a few character astetics.

    What's next? Nothing. Go forth and explore! Learn new things and adapt as best you can.

    My personal suggestion is to get into PvP as soon as you can... preferably by joining a PvP-oriented corporation. You have little to lose right now and the penalties for failure/death are rather light to neglectable (relatively speaking).
    Once you learn how to be a "hunter" you can better protect yourself from other "hunters" while exploring or doing other "non-combat" activities (because you know where and how they will come after you).

    For starting PvP using Gallente ships the Atron is awesome. For exploring you want to look at the Imicus.

    Do the tutorial and career agents. All of them.

    And to add to that do the Sisters of Eve Epic Arc. It's basically a road trip throughout all four empires to see the sights and sounds. Rewards are not too shabby too. After that it's up to you to do create what is fun FOR YOU. Myself I went the deep end and joined FW after languishing doing missions solo in a dead corp. I was basically killed countless times before I got picked up by an FW corp that teaches newbies.
