Im looking for a orca fitting, its mainly going to be used for a mining boost with a little bit of hauling. Currently I have a small shield tank but im missing a lot of stuff I need to add. Also if you cant tell from the first 2 sentence this is my first post on the forums and im still a new-ish player.

Currently I have.
High Slot
Mining Forman Link - Laser Optimization 1
Empty
Small Tractor Beam 1

Mid Slots
Limited adaptive invulnerability field 1
Limited adaptive invulnerability field 1
EM Ward field 1
Limited Thermic Dissipation field 1

Low Slots
Internal force field array 1
Corpii A-Type Adaptive Nano Plating

Rigs
Empty

Empty

I have been looking at older fits but i could not find any thats newer. What should I change and what should I add ?

Looks like the you got the basics down. Train for the T2 module variants ASAP. Leave the damage control on your orca all the time. It's the best mod for tank.

A pulse from a 100mn MWD will get you into warp in 10s from a standstill. Worth it if you travel a lot, needs a rig for powergrid though, maybe even the second low slot.

As for rigs I'd fit a mix of cargo and hyperspatial velocity optimizers. Orca warps slooow. T2 if you have the money.

As a goal maybe: With T2 rigs and a faction powergrid mod + good skills you can get 100mn MWD and two links online. The price to pay is fewer available slots for cargo, so maybe not so good for a pure mining support orca. But this is how I have fit mine.

I will give these a try, it looks like I will most likely remove one of the Limited adaptive invulnerability field 1 and replace it with a MWD.

I still have over 1000 power grid left with the current fit so i dont think i need any power grid boosts just yet.

Im training the T2 version of the forman links now

Generally, you'll have lots of grid leftover unless you're running a MWD for a travel fit, and then you'll have almost no grid leftover at all.

I have to ask, why only one foreman link? The cap reduction one isn't really necessary in hisec, but the range and cycle time ones are both huge benefits.

Also, why no survey scanner? Having a 135km range survey scanner means your mining ships generally won't have to fit them.

Otherwise, looks good.

i only had the one link because i could not afford the second one and I did not know witch one to add on.

There is no survey scanner because when i normally mine i clear out the whole field

I'm going to be brutally honest here for a moment: if you can't afford to fit a ship, it's generally unwise to fly it. Just some advice I learned the hard way a long time ago.

Survey scanners are useful even if you mine out the entire field. Wasting laser cycle time on nearly empty asteroids slows you down.

You might consider a Reinforced Bulkhead instead of the Corpii A-Type Adaptive Nano Plating, the Damage Control will give you 60% resist across the board on your hull (Once you get the T2 trained); The Hull is by far the biggest number in your tank on an Orca, so a reinforced Bulkhead and a damage control compliment each other quite well on an Orca resulting in up 215K EHP tank.

Edit; just looked with the new Bulkhead rigs I can actually get 387k EHP on my Orca, but this is at the expense of cargo space so not the best use of rig slots if your hauling a lot of Ore.

Things that keep me up at night;  Why do we use a voice communication device to send telegraphs? Moore's Law should state, Once you have paid off the last PC upgrade you will need another.

Seconded. Barges and Exhumers are slow to move around in belts, so any bonus to stripper range is very nice, although obviously secondary to a yield bonus in almost all most usage cases.

Given the recent addition of the Transverse Bulkhead rigs, which increase structure at the cost of cargo, I would go with a fit like this (unless you travel a lot, in which case you can switch one rig for a Large Ancillary Current Router I and put a 100MN Microwarpdrive in a med slot):

[Orca, Mining Booster]
Damage Control II
Reinforced Bulkheads II

Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
EM Ward Field II
Kinetic Deflection Field II
Thermic Dissipation Field II

Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization II
Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement II
Small Tractor Beam II

Large Transverse Bulkheads II
Large Transverse Bulkheads II
Large Transverse Bulkheads II

Add a few drones that match the rats of the region you're in, and you have 419k EHP brick floating in space :)
And as Nam Dnilb said, get the T2 modules. ASAP. But don't go for warp speed or cargo rigs. You want as much tank on an Orca as you can get. There are already enough badly fitted Orcas around, so don't waste your rig slots for cargo or something other than tank rigs.

Do this. It's damage controll II and reinforced bulkheads is the only low slot config I would ever use.

As to the mindlinks, it's kind of what the ship is about, you need them.....

Yield and range are the two must haves. Lose the tractor beam and get a MTU. Use the last high slot for a shield harmonizing mindlink. It's like a free adaptive invul. On every ship in the fleet.

get rid of that shiny nano and put a bulkhead in there.
my orca has a 255k ehp tank with just t2 mods and t1 shield rigs.

you beat me to it nice fit I had not seen the hull rigs yet.
