I know, I shouldn't have paid, but I was feeling particularly stupid (or was it drunk? I don't remember) and got myself pointed by Suddenly Ninjas. Funny story actually:

I'm grinding away at my mission (Blockade) and in comes a SN Noctis. At first he's just salvaging, but then starts looting. I start shooting, and he's dropping pretty fast through shields and then into armor. He gets to about half armor and in come 2 (or was it 3?) logis and rep him back to full shields. Then the Noctis points me and starts a very slow cap drain. I thought it was well done one their end, I'd like to ad a note of congrats on being well played.

An orca and another ship of theirs come out of somewhere as well and start adding to the repping, etc. No one but the Noctis has agressed me but they're all red, I didn't see the need to shoot any of them, what was the point? They'd all just rep themselves back to health pretty quick.

I am not mad, quite the contrary - it was interesting to see this tactic actually applied and how it works. I also now have a much better idea of what I should have done. Several things come to mind. Oh well. There are many more ships in EVE, 100M really isn't that much, I was fully insured, and so my total loss was perhaps (after 'ransom' and insurance) only about 150M ISK.

A note to other pilots out there, however, and the reason for posting initially:

Suddenly Ninjas does NOT honor ransom requests, so don't bother paying. They played it well, but the will not honor your ransom, so save the ISK.

At least last time I was with SN, it was more of a "Do as you please" thing with ransoms. Some SN pilots will honor them, others will not.

But no, anyone who knows anything about SN will know that there is no corp-wide ransom honoring policy. Unless they changed a lot since I was last with 'em, but I doubt that very much.

As a fellow scoundrel with "suddenly" in his corp name, I would like to suggest the OP is nothing but lies.

You guys live in Auner now? Excellent, I hope you booted out the anti pirates that lived their with their carriers doing level 5's. The amount of times I scanned them down without a fleet to actually kill them with is bloody annoying.
