Did the old Gila model suit it better?

This thread is attracting a lot of people that liked the old Moa. In reality they make up 2% of the population. The 2% that put those tiny chrome wheels on their honda civic and think it looks good. It was ugly. new better!

Yes, we do like the way it looked before more than now. The new look is too generic, and doesn't suit the actual role of the ship. It's just like if they made all the exhumers look like thoraxs, a poor design choice.

To be honest, I don't like the new Moa. It doesn't look Caldari enough.

That said, I think I hate the fact that people call the Gila, "Hila" more. It's a G, not an H. P

I agree completely. Symmetry is beauty. It's about time CCP started nuking all of the ugly asymmetrical piles of junk and replacing them with beautiful, sexy symmetry. I can't wait for other Caldari ships like the Blackbird, Osprey, Bantam, Griffin etc. to be remodeled into the design aesthetic of the new Moa.

edit: If you like how the old Moa looks, that's fine and all. You're entitled to an opinion. I just don't see why anyone would like it.

There can be beauty in asymmetry, such as the new Manticore, and the new Moa isn't completely symmetrical, either. But, asymmetry for the sake of asymmetry is ugly, which is what many of the original Caldari designs are.

Yeah, because making everything look the same is exactly our motivation behind liking the old moa design.

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.

I liked the old Moa, I like the new Moa. I feel conflicted. I'm happy yet depressed. I've yet to fly one because I keep needing to go sit in a dark room till the spinning stops.

The new model has a rather large drone bay strapped to the bottom. It fits the Gila concept perfectly.

I agree with you, the Gila now looks nothing like I would expect it to. I hope at some point pirate ships all get their own models and don't just use generic hulls with slightly different coloring.

Honestly, the new Moa in general looks good, but not exactly what I expect a brawling cruiser to look. It looks more like something that would be fast and nimble.
