Before the Kronos patch, my Dominix with the fit below was doing 750 DPS with Sentry Drones V and Drone Interfacing V.

After the kronos patch, the same Dominix is only doing 686 DPS. Yes, I have trained Gallente Drone Specialization to IV. At V it only gets to 698 DPS in EFT.

AttentionThere is no other skill that improves sentry drone damage so why did you do thise HUGE NERF? It's outrageous.

You ALWAYS said in the run-up to Kronos that drone damage would essentialyl STAY THE SAME... Thx a lot I guess I'll go sell my Dominix now.

[Dominix, 750DPS] ---> Is now doing 686 DPS... WTF.

Really? Only 750? Maybe you need a new fit, patch or not. You should probably start by researching stacking penalties.

Yeah it's an L4 mission runenr fit. Show me one that does better DPS. I bet that 5th DDA of yours is gonna make a huge difference.

They did not increase the base states of the sentry drones enough to compensate for the change in the Drone Itnerfacing skill and the racial skills... Making this a stealth nerf.

Quote from the blog, because, you know, 'reading is hard':

"We will be minimizing this problem by reducing the bonus from the Drone Interfacing skill to 10% per level, and building the extra damage into the base stats of the drones."

They did NOT build the extra damage sufficiently in the sentry drones. The total damage output of Gardes, regardless of the ship or modules you use, was nerfed by approximately 8%.

Do you have an audio of this post? Thank you.

How is it a stealth nerf when they were entirely open about what was going to happen and when many of the sentries received significant raw damage and damage application increases?

Yes they did. “Sentries” are not the same as Garde IIs, you know, and they never said that they would completely cancel out the change to Drone Interfacing.
Oh, and it's only 6.5% by the way in the worst case scenario.

CCP was quite clear that GARDE II were getting a small damage nerf. Other drones got a damage buff. CURATOR Is and IIs, for example, both got substantial damage and tracking buffs.

Maybe for PvE this isn't as awesome, that's not my department. But for PvP, buffed Amarr drones are total winsauce. To be honest, for PvP, I always found the range on Gardes too restricting anyway--like a blaster demios vs a pulse zealot.

you will want to re-read the drone dev blog, especially the part where they said racial drones were being balanced on a scale between damage and speed.

and really, 52 dps... wow.. are level 4's that hard to where 52 dps means the difference between you finishing the site and losing your ship?

Before kronos fully skilled gardes II with 4x dda II were having 800 dps, now with 4x faction dda you will have 798 dps, so yes it is a small nerf just for gardes and for bouncers, but your numbers are still low.

CCPs spreadsheets probably dont allow more sentry damage than 800, and everyone has forgot how to design stuff without them.

CCP Fozzie wrote:

I'm seeing a fair bit of confusion about the details of the Sentry changes. I left the nitty gritty details out of the text section of the blog since they don't lend themselves to easy summaries and the actual numbers were in the spreadsheet, but I'll go over the end results of the changes to T1 and T2 sentries here so people can see the whole picture. These numbers assume max skills:

Curator I - +15% tracking, -50% falloff, +18.15% damage
Warden I - +40% falloff, +12% damage
Garde I - +50% falloff, +2% damage
Bouncer I - +60% tracking, -12.5% optimal, +14.3% falloff, +2.86% damage

Curator II - +15% tracking, -50% falloff, +8.31% damage
Warden II - +40% falloff, +2.67% damage
Garde II - +50% falloff, -6.5% damage
Bouncer II - +60% tracking, -12.5% optimal, +14.3% falloff, -5.71% damage

@ brinelan, the blog emphasises balance and never mentions a damage reduction

@ Barton: Thank you for that quote from Fozzie I never saw that. Whereas everyone else just comes in to bash in the thread you actually provided the only useful information. As for the 800dps, that's with Gallente BS V, my fit was with BS IV should have mentioned that. Also now we apparently must get blingbling DDAs to get the same damage projection...

So in other words, you decided to complain a lot without having informed yourself first. Goodie. That would explain why you have this odd notion that DDAs will help with your damage projection.

Actually I was thinking about the heart breaking and moving role played by Burgess Meredith

Something warm and sweet is needed when you see that part, and even more so when you here the story behind it
