Greetings test pilots,

As you may have noticed, we are now open for business on Sisi with the latest Industry changes. Please see the stickied feedback threads for ideas of what to test and how it should behave, and please be sure to give us plenty of feedback! Please also be sure to watch the known issues thread
so that we don't bug report issues that we already know about.

Some inevitable FAQs:

Will there be a new mirror?

Yes there will, but we are not sure of the exact timing of it yet. It is likely to occur in the next few weeks though, and given the nature of mirroring, we will be broadcasting it with as much lead time as possible.

Will you be giving out Industry skills?

We have no plans to give out skills at this time. Due to the nature of the changes, giving everyone level V in skills would definitely lessen the testing imprint we are hoping to get. That being said, at some point in development this may change. Mass tests will run as usual and SP will be awarded through them.

Will there be any changes to the market seeding?

No changes are planned to the market seeding for this Sisi rotation.

Will there be a place to see what's on Sisi?

A forum thread will go up on Tuesday next week (10th June) with all the pertinent details, and will be updated if/when more stuff hits the server, as well as broadcasting comm.

Thanks,
Goliath

Chances are this is either going to be much better or much worse than the original proposed industry changes

...guess we'll find out Soon/Soon™

Instead of giving people level 5 skills, what about the option of level 3 skills for guys like me who did not feel like manufacturing/researching/etc was worth training into [based on the current setup]?

When do you expect crius to be online on sisi?

It runs into the same issue of everyone testing the same thing, so we don't get a spread. If we offered this, noone would test very low level stuff, which is also very important.

a part of the industry changes is that slot costs depend on the usage of a single system compared to economy at large. Another part of that calculation is the market value of stuff.

how exactly do you plan to reflect that on SiSi ?

How would you prefer us to report suspected market seeding errors?

Also, am I mistaken in my expectation that T1 rigs should be a seeded item?

Could you add another port for sisi like 3724 for tq in the process?

The job cost calculations on this first round of testing will not be accurate for the reasons you mention.

We will do a mirror in a couple of weeks with activity calculated from TQ data which will be a decent starting point and an indication of what pricing will look like day 1 on TQ.

However the material / time / skill calculations etc will be accurate so we can get testing on all of that underway next week.

Will Duality be going up for the weekend so tournament teams can practice?

aka Jester, who apparently was once Deemed Worthy To Wield The Banhammer to good effect.

It seems very shortsighted to shut the server down over the weekend IMO.

With AT coming up, many teams are going to be wanting to start to practice, and given that most people have weekends off it's quite easy to coordinate times (given that people live in different timezones).

Not to mention the fact that all the ships that have been put together for practicing will then get wiped.

The sooner Duality can be released the better.

Are the changes as per the initial dev blogs?

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Yes we know it is bad timing, but we have some long running database prep work to do before we can bring it back up and obviously testing releases takes priority over tournament practice.

We will not be wiping anything when it comes back on Tuesday, however you can expect a wipe in around 2 weeks time.

EDIT: Practice server IS being setup but it won't be ready this weekend unfortunately

Any chance we can get some early versions of the sde and possibly Apis to test third party programs? Quite a lot of changes coming that I'd like to work on before launch.

APIs + SDE are still being worked on but we will have more information on that next week hopefully.

June 10th first iteration is loaded on Sisi.
July 22nd it is to go live on TQ.

42 days, 6 weeks.

Apochrypha was at least 6 weeks on Sisi before it went live, with multiple iterations that wiped the slate clean several times, and this industry overhaul touches far more game mechanics than Apochrypha does (yes, I am aware that 2500 new systems, new rats, new modular ships, totally new industrial chains were added).

There will be no way to test some of the longer term trending mechanics of Crius until they hit TQ.

This is not going to end well.

Things will go wrong, some things will break unexpectedly. That's the nature of software development.

You can help reduce the number of things going wrong by getting on Singularity when it's launched. Of course you'll also need to report any bugs you find, rather than keeping the details to yourself and your economic cabal.
