Could you add the ship skins you made earlier this year to NES?

Kale, I keep a launchers folder. If you don't rename the shortcuts right away when creating one from each launcher, it gets messy. rename the shortcut with its account name or character name before consolidating them into one folder.

right click exe -> create shortcut -> rename -> consolidate

note:

1. the launcher has a configurations menu, and one of the tabs allows you to clear cache or clear the usernames associated with the launcher

2. if it's done properly, the clients won't stack.

3. launchers from separate installs shouldn't stack either.

picture

as for creating another install in the first place, I did it just like a Singularity client--copy pasted the directory. for updates, go into the launcher config menu on the first launcher and uncheck "Delete patches after use" (on the Patches tab). for all the rest, keep the "Delete patches after use" checked.

always update the clients in the same order, so that after downloading the PATCH file with the first client, you can copy/paste the PATCH file into the remaining client directories, and the rest of the launchers will delete the PATCH file after their directory has been updated. (assuming they all had the same version.)

my "Launchers" folder has 2 shortcuts for each account: one for the launcher, and another to the client directory. they're named according to the account they lead to, + client or launcher, so they're next to each other like one-two one-two (both file types are .lnk so they can't have the same name).

also keep a text file handy, that lists your account names next to the characters associated with them.

OK, so basically still a royal pain in the butt because the launcher won't either

1. remember it's own most recent account (rather than the most recent account used across all launchers)
2. or allow us to specify the account to put as the default in the drop down on the command line.

I hoped they might have fixed this by now. It really feels like the launcher was not thought through with multi-account people in mind.

EDIT: It's a pity they download the patches into the root of the application. If they had just put them in a folder you could have used sym links to make all your copies of the application use the same patch folder. Then you wouldn't have had to copy files around between copies of the client.

Trying to find where the launcher stores the default value for that dropdown. If it in some config file maybe we we can figure out a way to keep multiple copies of the config to make the launcher launch with the desired default value in the drop down.

EDIT: It looks like they have made some changes. The launcher does seem to store it's own most recent account used. But it looks like it's stored in the launcher directory itself, or maybe under it somewhere in a subdirectory. It's not stored in the \AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_eve_eve1 folder. This means that if you setup multiple clients using symlinks to give each their own path (which is what eve wiki recommends, so that they each have their own \AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_eve_eve1 folder) then the launchers all use the same config, because they are actually the same file, just being accessed via different paths.

Maybe the eve wiki recommendations just need to be updated?

One thing to keep in mind is although there are power of two promotions and multiboxing is seemingly endorsed, the multibox-ability of EVE as a game was an accident. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that for the most part, it is still coincidental that multiple clients can run at the same time and play nice with each other.

So yeah i agree it's confusing, but I'm OK with it.

It's true, the launcher doesn't assume anything from the name of the install directory, but that's useful because you can change the name of the directory to whatever; Account_A -> Account_A_SiSi, etc.

just clear the user names from the config menu, then make sure the account name corresponds to the launcher's directory. the account name gets saved after that.

so am I being blind or are older items such as the field marshals coat, goggles and prosthetic eyes no longer available? or were they removed long ago and I never noticed?

if these were removed will they be added again later or have they been retired permanently?

Sorry but file “forumsig.GIF” is currently unavailable please come back later…… like in a year or so.

Its not a search button as such, but an indicator that the text box to its right can be used for searching.

Typing anything in this box will immediately search the store.

I hope that helps!

Thanks, my eyes must be going bad. I had found the other hidden, click-on options for sorting, but never identified that area as a text box where I could type a search term. Straight

The same is true with Male/Female clothing options

The landing/home page can be accessed by clicking the store logo you should get a glow when you mouse over it. There is currently and issue where the filters for a category will still show when going back to the landing page but the filter is not applied. The filters should be there at all. Fix for that incoming.

This is not quite what i was talking about.
Open NES
-> select Ship skins
-> Select Amarr
-> Select Battleship skins
-> Select Ship skins

The List would continue to only be amarr ship skins, The only filter that wouldnt still be applied would be the battleship selection

This has since been changed with the ability to deselect the third menu option

This is when viewing everything in the store on one page, as it is when you open it,
->The sorting options you have Price/name ascending/descending doesn't work.
It lists The caracal at #9 @1000 aur above the 1500 sleeve tattoos, and the 45 rifter Kursual 1 run above the 800 rocket dress
->It is also inconsistent when changing between ascending /descending in the same category (name or price) as to which item is first and last with everything in between being jumbled.

There is a bias for offers with ribbons on the landing page so each part, with and with out ribbons get sorted separately with the ribbons always on top.

Even then the bias was not consistently applied, as "New" items and "sale" items were even from their own categories incorrectly placed.

This has also been fixed.

There is a strange white box centered above the Items offered, and below the plex advertisement. it reads as a button but displays nothing, And seems to only be on the front screen. What is that supposed to be?

Good job on this. though i would still prefer a window then a full screen storefront.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.

Generally a hugh improvement over the old store. The large icons, categories and search function make it far more user freindly.

A few areas that could be improved:

Adding a right-click option to items to "view in NES store" similar to the "view market details" and "find in contracts" options, it would make looking up an item much faster, if you were browsing the market for instance, and more directly connect items to the NES store.

Being limited to fullscreen you can't reference the market, work from a shopping list of items, or jump through a stargate (as the store automatically closes), every time you must re-open the store, which resets all the filters. Short of allowing the store to work windowed, perhaps if the filters persisted for a few minutes after closing, so if the NES store was reopened, it would return to the same location, however after 10 minutes or so, the store would return to default.

The purchase process also seems a little choppy with the item information window being bumped up the screen until the close icon is cut off the top of the screen, and with quite a few steps: purchase -> processing -> complete -> redeem bar appears -> redeem bar expands -> item added to redeem bar. It could transition smoother with fewer steps: purchase -> processing -> complete would you like to redeem?, all within the item information window.

The scrollbar is very narrow, and when not highlighted, can be very difficult to see. It can also be difficult to use when scrolling down and items are being loaded, changing the length of the page. If the scroll bar could estimate the length of the page before all the items load it would be smoohter to use.

Apart from dresses, which have already been mentioned, while not Dust, I wouldn't mind seeing some clothing options that were more armor inspired.

Also, sorry to be a nag, will all items that were originally avaliable in the NEX store be added to the NES store, or will some/all not be added again?

Either way, a really nice feature, and some of the new additons are the most stunning items in the game.

With a dual monitor setup (3840x1080), the new eden store is put in the middle of both screens. Same thing with the character creation. A picture is better than words:

Here's an idea. Instead of keep putting in new apparel, why not make some of the old stuff that we've been able to see in the market FROM THE BEGINNING available in the NES?

you've done it again with this release too. stuff we can see but not get. will those go the same way? Assets that exist but are unattainable in any way, shape or form?

what's the point in doing the work for stuff you won't give us?

at least make it fair, make a Titan skin, make it visible on the market, but never make it attainable. Keep the trolling of playerbase equal.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

It's a little pointless, but you could say that about any vanity item. And as I spend a lot of times on the forums, have to look my best Blink

The fact that you didn't sell your left monocle is a statement. I prefer your this year campaign avatar over your last year's freaky close up one.

You can kind cheat though, moving the camera focus one way or another, along with the cap display.

Not sure how I'd approach moving the NEW display, when I got a very large screen res. Not sure if it's possible to tell 'this splits between two screens.'

It could be a request for a windowed NES, maybe.

I think splitting the client between screens is almost as bad as trying to play an FPS across an even number of monitors (it splits the crosshairs straight down the middle).

Added to the micro-thin, easy to miss scroll bar, at first look, it is not apparent to some users which elements are controls. Some users are being led to expect the hourglass icon to be a button, I think due to its matching the background color, and being right next to the two items which *are* buttons. "Ship Skins" dark background = button, "Apparel" dark background = button, "Hourglass icon" dark background = not a button.

Please consider making the hourglass icon background in the same shade of gray as the textbox, so its visually distinct from things-I-can-click-on. Better still, consider moving the hourglass icon to be a background element, very light gray and left-aligned *inside* the textbox. This way, clicking on the hourglass would cause blinking cursor to appear in the text box.

The scroll bar would also be more apparent as a control, if it was next to the item grid, instead of on it. And twice the width.

Moving down the page (if you *don't* notice the scroll bar) seems to require a wheel mouse, because I haven't come across an alt-click or keyboard shortcut to move up and down. Arrow and/or page keys would be very helpful.

I take back what I said about EVE not being great across screens.

windowed NES might actually be a good idea, especially when it's launched after a character has been selected

I would move it to the left edge, this whole NES window. Not centered.
