Okay. "А то несешь всякую ерунду, телочка" That's correct.

Hey now. Port Arthur is a cultural icon for us.

Did you know something like 22% of us Australians have convict heritage. It stopped being taboo quite some time ago and is now considered stylish to have in your ancestry.

My grandfather (may he rest in peace), used to build/operate distilleries during prohibition in the US, he was always ashamed of it but he told us all about it like 2 years before his death. I think it was ******* awesome, tbh.

That is pretty cool.

I picture the old school gangsters, collecting loads of booze from discrete establishments, ferrying it around under the cover of darkness. Pirate

Told me this story once, a cousin of his worked at Kennedy Airport (in NYC), this international airport was a notorious gangster paradise dealing in things "coming off airplanes and just going missing", bags of quarters, electronic equipment, you name it.

One day his cousin comes over the house, now by this point my grandfather was a legit earner as a Coke-Cola truck driver for at least 10 years, puts a small bag on the table in the kitchen and says:

"Would you mind just putting this in your safe and forget about it?"

My grandfather, being the good full-blooded sicilian that he was, said "sure".

He put the bag in the safe and forgot about it, cousin comes back about a year later asking for the bag. My grandfather gets it and gives it back asking for nothing and his cousin opens the bag and drops two diamonds on the table.

My grandmother still wears one of them as her engagement ring and the other is in the pinky-ring that he gave me before he passed.

My family are all sicilians/italians from East-New York...i've got a bunch of good stories.

Not to derail the thread, i thought that the account of the carrier escaping was pretty cool. I doubt i would've had the sac to jump back into harms way with a 4bil some odd carrier, extremely good situational awareness on Fidos part, o7

My grandma came from sicilia in 1929. My grandfather family too came from Sicilia but before them.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

Derailing threads is what Rollo does best.

Ninja'd me. I was going to say it probably isn't a wormhole's thread if it doesn't get derailed, so feel free, it's what threads are for.

Well all except the dress suggestion thread, I keep the spurge out of that like a mother wolf protects her young.

As someone who is fairly new to the EVE-o forums, i didn't want to garner the negative attention that i've seen many people get in this community. Big smile

Welcome. Big smile

Meh. EVE is about the fun you have interacting with others in all kinds of ways. The forums are just another part of that fun.

I love forums. Almost as much as spaceships and barbies.
