Dear CCP staff,

We carrier pilots cannot guarantee our quarries will not attempt to use ECM or neuts to break points and therefore cannot guarantee they won't flee back to the station in the designated combat system.

As such, we request something be done about this or simply about the manner in which combat is carried out in this system. Every new mirror imports our setttings from TQ to some extent including the basic drone settings (i.e. attack and follow). Clearly this presents an issue for carrier and super carrier pilots as our fighters / bombers will follow their targets into warp with no idea which direction they're heading. with the introduction of the Tier 3 Battlecruisers, it has become common practice for hit and runs to be done by these slimline "battleships" at distances which our sub cap pilots cannot normally perform combat. So carriers dispatch their fighters to deal with these targets and as they flee, our fighters enter warp to chase them since at 100km there's no possible way to apply a point.

So I present you with two options

1) Disable attack and follow by default on SiSi (or remove that option)
2) come up with some rule exception for fighters/bombers since people will flee

And given the fact that these new tier 3 battlecruisers can warp and target faster than a standard battleship and are essentially given immunity by CCP dev's / SiSi GM's because all they need to do is retreat to the station and abuse the no combat rulings you're pressing other players to find creative means of dealing with what is being discussed by some carrier pilots as exploits of the combat system.

Please review this issue and respond with a concise ruling on this matter.

I try to recall my fighters as quickly as I can but the fact that I don't give 100% of my attention to what's being killed and nearly all my attention is focused on keeping fleet members up and fighting I cannot make any promises that my fighters will be recalled before exiting their warp and re-engaging a target on station.

This is the second time in 2 days that warning were issued by members of ISD to carrier pilots whose fighters had followed these tier 3 battlecruisers into warp. It's clearly an issue and obviously in need of some rule revisions or acknowledgements by the managing server staff.

Thanks for highlighting this issue as a problem. We will go over it and amend the rules if needed. That being said, please understand that the "no attacking outside the station or at gates" rule is in place for a reason, not merely arbitrary, and is important to reinforce. Neither of your rule suggestions strike me as feasible and you can simply disable "attack and follow" yourself with practically zero effort to avoid breaking the rules.
