Can't fly sentry drones

Before the patch, my various alt army could fly every single type of tech 2 sentry drone. After Kronos patch, that is no longer the case. It says I need racial drone specialization. Now for min/gallente I already have those but amarr/caldari are at 0.

What happened to if you could fly it b4 you could after?

Suck it up and train those skills to 1. It takes 2 seconds. You have no excuse to not have them if you can already fly T2 Sentries.

Honestly, I thought Eve players were not the whiny bitches of WoW.

This was announced along with the drone changes over two months ago.
You had over two months to remedy this.
And even having missed it, these skills are still very easy to train which is why this is an exception to their rule. Same as navy battleships were an exception during the great skill change of Odyssey.

Just train the skills. Very simple. But oh no... you might have to spend several million isk to buy them! Oh the humanity! You'll need them anyway now if you wanna get anything close to the performance damage wise you had before Kronos.

I know right! They could have done a Dev blog, or maybe a few stickies, maybe there could have been like 120ish threads on the same subject. Maybe next time CCP makes changes, they'll hire skywriters, get someone to do some semaphore, hire someone to flash the changes in morse code with a high powered laser on the moon, perhaps buy a commercial of two during the superbowl, hire Gar Busey to scream the changes in our ears while we sleep, or even use the launchers to link all of our computers into a botnet and use its awesome power to awaken skynet, who will send a terminator back in time to tell Sarah Conner to train Drone spec skills!

Short answer is there was a devblog, many posts, and links on the launcher but mostly ^^^^

But is it really fair to "require" that subscribers read the forums for official preview patch information?

Why not a customized email and eve mail warning subscribers that that some/all of their characters may be in "danger" of losing access to T2 sentries, or that ships currently in their inventory will be changed in the upcoming release.

We know ahead of time who will be affected, so why not send them a custom in-game warning?

Because of "OMFG STAHP SPAMMING MAI INBOX WITH YOUR UNWARRANTED MAILS CCP! ARGARGARGARGH RABBLE RABBLE! CCP Y U ABUSE MAI EMAIL ADDRESSES!!! RABBLR RABBLE!!" responses they'd get.

Remember the outrage when CCP sent the single mail to remind people to vote for CSM.. or the rage when the popup announcing the alliance tourney happened? Yeah.

The reason that CCP wont do this for people is because of people.

This makes no logical sense. If you're playing an MMO, you know that patches happen and games evolve. You either let the updates come to you and react to whatever new environs are presented, or you keep yourself informed about upcoming changes and are ready when they're implemented.

You choose which way you want to play the game. "Act" or "React." CCP can't play the game for you.

The OP is actually right with asking the question cuz CCP didn't communicate this one right.

We all know about the changes, that is not the point, it is the convertion of the old Sentry skills.

Let me quickly explain by using my character as an example.


Before Kronos this were the Skills you needed to use ALL Sentry II Drones:

Sentry Drone Interfacing V
Drone InterfacingDrone Interfacing IV
DronesDrones V
Drone SharpshootingDrone Sharpshooting IV
DronesDrones V
Drones I


So I have the new skill for Garde II and Bouncer II but not for Curators II and Warden II. The question is why? I had all racial Drone Specialiations to at least 4 except Gallente and Minmatar which were trained to V pre Kronos.

It is not the rebalancing or that I haven't read the Dev Blog, it is the convertion of the skill I don't get. Did I need to train Caldarin Drone Specialisation to V pre Kronos( as I said it was trained to IV) to get the Skill now to I post Kronos?

Why could I use Garde II and Bouncers II right after the patch but needed to retrain to use Warden II and Curator II ?
