Yeah it's not a bug. The structure skirts are pant-layer items. These new dresses are tops.

Yeah. They need to call them tops then. Very disappointing.

Yeah it's not a bug. The structure skirts are pant-layer items. These new dresses are tops.

The image in the OP shows the new ones listed as outer, same as the old ones. I'm talking about the dresses, not the skirts. So maybe it IS a bug?

Not sure I follow, although I have been up for a 12h nightshift. Structure skirts are pant layer items, the dresses are tops (when I say 'tops' I mean any of the three torso layers).

I'm not talking about structure skirts. I'm talking about this: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Women%27s_%27Structure%27_Dress_%28black/white%29

Which is in the same slot as the new ones and does not require pants. I blame CCP's naming scheme for the mixup.

Ahhh gotcha!

Yep, my bad then, when you said structure I immediately thought of those skirts.

Any words, thoughts, or comments from CCP devs? Would be very interested to know why the new items were categorized the same as other dresses but with different requirements..and what, if anything, they plan to do about it. Finally a dress in the game I like and I can't wear it the way I want Ugh

Throw it up in one of the feedback threads up in the information portal. I'd post it, but I can't actually get into the NES store myself.

The dress issue has been mentioned in numerous threads about the update, so I'm sure they're aware of it.

And CCP Xhagen did post this earlier today .... so I guess let's wait and see if anything happens in future patches.

I fully support this idea. To call these items dresses is a bit of a misnomer as they can't actually be worn without pants.

I would love to see my character like this. http://i.imgur.com/ekCSCH0.png

Risque? A couple people said that to me, especially with the full-frontal version in which the character's underwear layer is just visible. However who is to say that it's not a bodysuit, or even part of the dress? Nothing really risque about it ...

Besides, CCP previously changed the layering rules for tops, allowing toons to show their "bras" under a vest. If that is permissible and not too risque then I cannot see a problem with allowing us to wear these dresses as actual dresses.

I completely agree with you.

You are both right. The Structure dress appears as an outer but occupies both the outer and bottom slots (as putting it on will remove what you have on in the bottom slot).

I personally would love to see some more bottom layering options such as having an Impress skirt and Strut pants on at the same time.

In any case, I support this feature.. more avatar customization is a healthy thing for EVE.

We need to get rid of the underwear layer too, somehow,
or at least get more options for that.

Yes, the undies are a seperate layer. When the creator loads up,
sometimes they're not getting loaded ... showing ... parts ... but no nipples. -.-'

And, more importantly:

- Ripley in the final scene of Alien

- Princess Leia in the infamous golden bikini

- River in Serenity

- Cherry in Planet Terror*

- ...

The list goes on and on. Is this not a modern sci-fi game???

Really they need to do away with all "required" articles. It is really pointless in the overall premise of things, since there is still a underwear layer and CQ is still single player.

They also should remove the need to force a portrait change anytime you change clothing, and make portrait change optional, THEN they can require things like tops when in "portrait mode".

But yes like the multitude of other threads that Sol has made, I agree, remove the need for bottoms.
