I can easily think of several reasons, all in line with EVE:

1) You aren't a producer of said goods, you are a consumer and you WANT more competition.
2) Knowledge is a key resource for economic prosperity. By spreading such knowledge, you grease the economic wheels.
3) You are "getting out" of the profession, and no longer have any vested interest in keeping your information secret.
4) You are moving up the production line and want the components you used to build to be cheaper.
5) You want the market to grow, so it can support higher volumes.

Basically, it all boils down to you wanting someone else to do the work for you.

and yet we are back around to the building things/mining things

that still doesn't cover why people want to make guides for exploration, because no matter in what way you spin it more competition in exploration is NEVER a good thing

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

Au contraire, there is plenty of benefit to creating an exploration guide.

Exploration can be used to:
1) Get Datacores, decryptors, interfaces - all needed for T2 production. The more plentiful these things are, the easier T2 production becomes.
2) Get salvage - needed for rig production. The more plentiful these are, the cheaper rigs become.
3) Locate sleeper sites - needed for T3 production. The more plentiful these are, the cheaper subsystems and T3 ships become.
4) Locate asteroid belts - which supply ABC ores. The more plentiful ABC ores are, the cheaper high ends become, and the cheaper T1 ships and capitals become.
5) Exploration is related to PvP probing, which causes more ships to be destroyed, which increases demand for various PvP related goods (ships, mods, ammo, etc)
6) Anamolies and escalations, which can drop faction/deadspace loot. These items can be very rare, and someone who wants to buy said items has a vested interest in making exploration widespread.

There is no real enemies in eve. We all here share the same intrest in eveonline. Human tend to sit together and share their same intrest. Example you share your experience with your good friends. The only thing we able to share is the game mechanism but not the alliance info or your Corp info.

Mr. Kidd's abridged guide to being a better woman:

1) Open mouth. Don't worry baby, it's clean. I just took a shower and it doesn't bite. BTW, no teeth, mmmkay?

2) Always use your tongue on the underside.

3) Swallow.

Mission Guides makes missions easier - More LP items on markets - LP items worth less = BAD

Mining Guides - makes everyone know how to mine effectively - Min prices lowered = BAD

T3 production Guides -more people make T3s - T3s cheaper = BAD

Booster making Guides - more people make boosters - booster prices fall = BAD

Exploration Guides - More people doing exploration - Exploration over crowed = BAD

Fitting Guides - people fitting better - less fail fits to lol at in KMs = BAD

Moon mining Guides - More Moon competition = BAD

there's no up side to having MORE competition

I still hope you are just trolling and in the case you are actually serious about this...

Stop being a selfish c*nt. So new players should stay ignorant because of you? I am a fairly new player myself (4/5months?) and these guides helped me to get through the learning curve and stay with the game unlike many others that fall off because of that. FYI a mmo needs new blood to stay alive and if the learning curve of this game is a big roadblock the best thing you can do is to make it easier for them.

From the OP:
you still have not convened me having a guide for ever part of the game is good for the game

Quote:
Mission Guides makes missions easier - More LP items on markets - LP items worth less = BAD

Easier missions means more people able to afford LP items in market = GOOD

Quote:
Mining Guides - makes everyone know how to mine effectively - Min prices lowered = BAD

How to mine effectively brings more common material to the market at better price; rarer mineral gain in value as a result of the disparity = GOOD

Quote:
T3 production Guides -more people make T3s - T3s cheaper = BAD

By reading these guides, more beginners will realize how large a task it all represents therefore making them plan for something else, further closed market for dedicated individual = GOOD

Quote:
Booster making Guides - more people make boosters - booster prices fall = BAD

More people doing booster means less doing something else; being flexible as a crafter/seller = GOOD[/quote]

Quote:
Exploration Guides - More people doing exploration - Exploration over crowed = BAD

More people doing exploration means more chances for encounters and skirmishes; more fun = GOOD

Damn! I ran out of quotes!!! Let's change format :)

"Fitting Guides - people fitting better - less fail fits to lol at in KMs = BAD"
More potent oponents means more challenge; harder = BAD .... for wussies

"Moon mining Guides - More Moon competition = BAD"
See part about exploration

"there's no up side to having MORE competition"
One can tell you haven't taken economy classes, I don't bame you, they can be tedious

There are many upsides to helping/teaching such as better environement, attitude, feeing of actualization/achievement and cleaner forums.

Also, education helps knowing the difference between "their" , "they're", and "there"; I would strongly suggest finding a guide ;)

why is it everyone feels the need now days to post guides for EVERYTHING

what has happened to the days of guarding your knowledge so you keep the upper hand most of the time

i swear if CCP made secret that gave you uber god like powers if you warped to certain plaints in a solar system in a certain order there would be a guide on the forums on how to do it with in a week of someone finding out.

you don't need to tell everyone how to do everything.

there's no one forcing you to share info you find that makes you isks/has that uber fit.

so why would you do it.

Dear OP,

Real life called and said you needed a reality check. It asked that you get back in touch with It ASAP because It fears you have mistaken a video game for It.
