Regarding the new ship models

Ok, here's what I think:

The new model looks great, but thinking that I will never, ever be able to fly the old moa again is sad.
Why not just update the T2 version of the ship? That way, you can still fly 2 different ships based on the same one.
It would just add to the eve universe, instead of taking one step forward and one step back again.
I also really miss the old apocalypse design. I wish for the same thing here; Keep the new, fresh model for the paladin. and bring the old one back for T1. It really didn't look that bad. Maybe even bring it back with some refreshed textures and details, but keep the overall shape.
My thoughts remain the same for the crucifier. The new model looks more advanced, like a T2 should be.
Ships that are unique to the eve universe is just sad to see discarded.
Even though you can still see them as rats, they can never be flown again.

Gonna be sad everytime I do a mission now.

Things change, especially in design. And in many cases the changes could not just be rolled back, because the new stuff is built on another platform or technology.

Besides, this is not the first or the last time ship models got changed. Blast from the past moment here.

The old Moa looked like a garage door. A lot of people enjoy flying T1 ships and don't want something that looks that dumb. If you suggested some kind of special edition Moa that kept the old model then I guess...but I don't really see the point.

That was another thought I had. If you could purchase a skin, just like the new paintjobs, everyone would win.
If you prefer the old model, buy the skin. Prefer the new, don't do anything.
The moa has been hated on for as long as I can remember, but I liked it. I also like the new model.
Am I the only one who thinks that would be good?

I have a thread for an idea dedicated to something like this. If you want, drop by and comment with your support.

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.

Why don't you just take two Norelco razors and duct tape them to an espresso maker. Voila! Keep it on your bedstand!

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I have a carburetor tied to a transmission with an old banana stuck in the front on mine. It's just not enough. I still can't undock it in eve.

Seriously do ppl in EVE complain about EVERY change?

OMG CCP you made something more easily read, more functional, or just downright pretty. Enter forum whine thread.

Solution is: Get a better PC, get some glasses, or get accustomed to a non-static gaming universe.

People don't like change. Never have, never will.
Even if you introduce something that is directly, objectively, superior in every single way, you will get someone who wants the old thing.

Most recent memory for me was the transition from .gif's to .webm's; they're like .gifs but completely better. Didn't stop people from preferring .gifs.

The old moa model was the sole reason why i skipped entirely over cruisers xD

Now about that paint job thing, it would actually be quite nice. It's not that CCP doesn't have the model already, so they could just add it in store (or maybe polish it up a bit and add it, just so they don't appear lazy :p ), and in that case everyone wins!

CCP gets their moneyz, players get their... um "special" moa, and the rest of us enjoy the new model :3

Uhm, read my first post again, all the way through this time and see that it makes sense.
Completely removing old flyable models actually takes away content from the game.
I don't mind changes or adding stuff to the eve universe, but at what cost?
This time it was just the moa, but the next time they might turn the machariel into a flying, pink block of cheese.
Let's see you all "adapt" to that.

I rest my case.

With the way the art team is currently working, I'd say it'd be a ******* Cool looking pink block of space cheese.
Bring it on!

Sigh.. your opinion differs from mine, and that's ok, but I think you see my point too.

I see your point, I just don't agree with it.
And you know, this has been coming for some time now, there's been plenty of time to voice concerns .
