As indicated here, it seems the Legion has suffered from Guristas infiltration and has begun releasing proprietary Legion technology as part of the hook for pilots.

Hm.

Straightforward enough.

The tone of that press statement makes it sound as if Mordu was asking for help looking for his car keys. I sure hope he finds these "things" of his he speaks of.

I didn't want to say, but-- ugh. Doesn't the Legion have a budget for a decent public relations agency?

Hm. This data is supposedly "hidden" in automated, undefended towers and electronic intrusion will somehow get that data back without copies remaining somewhere else? The Legion doesn't have their own backups or central storages?

This sounds weird to me. What data sequences are we talking about here, I wonder? Intel? Industry data? Not actually Mordus Legion data at all, but something else they really want to get copies of and thus lure capsuleers with shiny new ships?

If it was actually data from Mordus Legion originally, they'd surely still have their own copies and would prefer us to destroy the stolen data caches rather than gain our own copies.

Odd.

The man's reportedly eccentric enough that you might just be on the money there.

On the other hand, new toys!

There are enough mysteries in New Eden: a secretive mercenary organisation being secretive and mercenary doesn't really bother me too much, so long as those ships turn out to be worth the Tritanium they're made of.

The data we're hunting would appear to be decryption or identification protocols for Guristas dead-space facilities.

Needless to say, if the Guristas have facilities we have yet been unable to locate, then I'm rather interested in this Legion endeavor. In fact, you'll recall that during some DC57 discussion, we theorized that the only reason we could find covert research facilities was because of the energy bloom resulting from their experiments.

Which makes it highly desirable for anyone. I'll have to accelerate the research vessel's production and training schedule. Time to get DC57 up and running properly again.

I don't trust these Legion guys anymore after then have fought against the Caldari Navy.
Maybe at least their technology will help us to deal with gallentean occupants, if they themselves are unable to do anything.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

You realise they're Intaki originally, right? Wouldn't be at all surprised if you need some Gallentean ship-piloting memes on board to be able to even get those ships to boot up and say "good morning, pilot".

Well I'm glad we all got that tidbit of information.

If I may speak relevantly: I tend to agree with Verin. Aside from the worthwhile reward, we shouldn't need to question the Legion's security protocols. I'm sure they're looking at it, and there's no use in being sassy after the fact.

What matters now is working collaboratively to stop a criminal organisation from being able to pursue their unlawful agenda without intervention from good persons. Save the snark, do the job, win a damn good prize.

The Legion have proven themselves fair dealers in the past. No doubt they will be so again in this instance.

Having taken a look at the prototypes on the simulator networks, I'd say they are.

From my test runs, I'd say the frigate is a solid support/anti-support vessel, and the cruiser is very similar to a Cerberus, just with a smaller engagement range.

I've not spent much time taking a look at the battleship, but I've heard it compared to a Machariel that uses missiles instead of guns.

Training in both Caldari and Gallentean starship interfacing was required on the simulator networks, so I would assume this to be the case in practice, yes.

Nice words... from someone defending criminal organization.

I guess I have more ships I need to get schematics for.
Does anyone know if they use Caldari or Gallente standard systems design or if it's proprietary? I know drive modifications applicable to Caldari ships are usually to Guristas ships since the designs are mostly the same, but these Mordu ships appear to have been purpose built for the legion, but I have no idea if the underlying ship infrastructure is different, or just the hull format.

I will have to check into what Mordus are doing. I am no fan of Guristas pirates and would certainly feel free to strike at them, but I am not ready to get myself involved in the Legion. Their leader is a bit unpredictable and eccentric.

Hmm so does it have a rave deck in standard Gallente Tradition?

I expect the Garmur and the Orthros to see a great deal of use on New Eden's starborne battlefields, but I strongly suspect the Barghest may go the way of the Nestor - an excellent ship that's nonetheless too expensive and too awesome to use.

Interesting.

I may have to go on an excursion or two.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I think PR might be the least of their worries.

With a public announcement revealing the existence of such structures to capsuleers, followed by a plead to be safely returned to them in exchange for some candy under the counter... Because we all know capsuleers to be a reliable bunch.

I'd like to thank Mordu for making this information public, as the Angels have equal interest in what Guristas stole from them, if not even more. Curiosity is a marvelous human trait.

So, let'smake an offer out there and keep things relatively balanced, since the market prices haven't stabilized yet and the ISK is a fickle mistress - we'll be offering single run BPCs of the Dramiel for 75 data sequences, Cynabal for 200 data sequence and Machariel for 700 data sequences.

Their new battleship hull looks like a luxury home and building designer got fired and ran to Mordu's in revenge.

We even had a picnic on the top flat bit of it with all the lights. It was very pleasant.
