What’s holding back the Who Framed Roger Rabbit sequel?

"These days, when people talk about what might be holding Roger Rabbit 2 back from production, the licensing deals involved in this kind of cross-studio cooperation come up more than anything else; the theory is that now, studios are more invested than ever in licensing and protecting their intellectual property, and that Roger Rabbit couldn’t possibly happen in the present legal environment."

Poor Robert Zemeckis....such a spectacular run through "Contact".

...then came "Polar Express" (yawn) and "Beowulf" (yawn)......and the character's noticeably dead eyes. Yet another "Christmas Carol" the horrible "What Lies Beneath".........and that All Time Great Comedy Classic, "Castaway".

I loved Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I hope they don't ruin it with a sequel, reboot, reimagining, or anything.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Movies that are older I am simply just should not be allowed to have sequels made. It's fundamentally against the natural order of things.

No problem Jason, they can just make a prequel. With some young punk as a young Bob. That's the magic of Hollywood. Smile

Or just go the Orphan Annie way and turn Bob Hoskins' character into a competitor to Jessica Rabbit. Roll

Q: Should we be worried? A: Nope. (...) Worry a lot if Fozzie, Masterplan, Rise, Veritas, Bettik, Ytterbium, Scarpia, Arrow, or even Greyscale leaves. Worry a little if Punkturis, karkur, SoniClover, Affinity, Goliath, or Xhagen leaves.

Loved the movie, so does my family.

While a sequel would be nice, I don't think it would be a good idea.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

Part 2: The familiar characters and setting, and unfamiliar character team-ups, of Who Framed Roger Rabbit

No amount of bullish would re-create the magic of the original.

Holy Satanic Christ! This is a Goddamn Signature!
