everlasting plex conspiracy

Plex prices has gone way up and been target for discussion many times, without any Clear reason why.

So why not bring this topic up again for the hundred time....


1. Players grow tired of game, spend less Money on plex, renedering plex-shortage on the marked.

2. CCP is manipulating the plex marked to entice players to buy more plex to sell for isk.

Must be noted, this is in no way based on fact, but more glorious fiction.

Or more people are switching to plexes and/or making more alts which just use plex. Which increases demand, which increases price.

Not to mention the additions that use plex like dual training which can also increase price.

CCP manipulating would be risky and counter productive.

If CCP sees and negative trend in Subscription Income and stockholders begins setting questions about lower annual dividens, it could be a move from CCP to try marginalize losses With a increased plex-surplus.

Again, not based on facts :D

Im happely aware of the redubdant rule: D... but the rule in its self is redundant since CCP refuses players to keep discussing New aspect of same case.

I think we also have to consider how real world economy factors into this as well. It is anecdotal, but most people I know are having to tighten their belts and spend less money on frivolous things. I have no idea how other countries are doing. With that in mind, I would put my tin foil hat away and realize that there are a lot of factors involved with the price of PLEX and that it is very unlikely that it is being directly manipulated by CCP.

With the refurbised line of pirate faction ships and introduction of Mordus Legion, I think Kronos will help to stabilize the in-game PLEX price.

And how would they do that? By creating new authentic characters, with an authentic corp history, with authentic sec status, authentic bios? Or will NPC corp alts suddenly buy 30 PLEX?

Or will they simply delete my PLEX sell orders and send me an email with an NDA agreement?

Or will CCP Hilmar show up in my transaction logs, injecting 50 billion ISK into the economy?

This thread. Again. Seriously.

CCP have only manipulated the PLEX market by promotions (ie the Caldari Caps) and PLEX injection (from banned accounts).

These 2 actions were to drive the value of PLEX down.

The increase in price has come from...
1) The cease of promotion isk from sites like SomerBlink for buying PLEX (thus fewer purchases)
2) Increased usage of PLEX (multiple character training, fanfest tickets, other PLEX conversions)
3) Greater number of alt accounts

CCP wants as many people as possible to be able to afford PLEX.
The more PLEX traded and used equals more money for CCP compared to subscriptions (someone pays for them with real money and PLEX cost more to buy than a subscription).

So take off your tin foil hat.

If it moves.... You obviously didn't kill it the first time.
