Noob wanders into lowsec for the first time with his shiny new cruiser, meets his first player pirate.
It usually goes a little something like this:

I honestly can't even remember what my very first one was.
My first loss with this toon was a Thorax.

My first loss was in a starter system (Couster) on my third or fourth day in the game.

Loved it so much I immediately moved to lowsec and was killed many times over.

Wouldn't change a thing about that experience.

My first PVP experience was against someone in a rocket condor vs my cormorant during my trial days. I would later lose my said cormorant to an "elite highsec pvper flashing yellow during SoE".

I was moving all my stuff in my trusty Tormentor to join up with a corporation when the auto pilot route took me through low-sec and then I woke up in a medical clone.

When I made Garamonde, I'd already decided that I didn't want to be a carebear anymore. So, I solo'd for a bit to get used to PvP, then joined M3 Corp. Had to take a break for a bit, and when I came back, I sought out a pirate corp... EVE has rarely been boring since then...

*screen fades out*

After a few beers I was feeling overconfident in my brand new frigate... told my corpmate that I could take him... turns out corpmate was a multi year veteran even though he sounded like a teenager... he promptly murderd me. I rallied two other newbies for great justice to try and kill him... we almost got his assault frig but our laughable tactics and murderous zeal led to all of us being soundly blown up.
He reimbursed us for "good effort.

I'll tell you about my first pvp, back then when I just startet to play.

First:

Me: I got a Drake now, lets how long that cranky old ferox lasts in lowsec...
*5 Minutes Later*
Me: Well, that was fast... o_O

Second:

Budy of mine: OH MY GOD DEBS! INCOMING WE'VE GOT A SPIKE INCOMING! ALIGN ALIGN ALIGN! DOCK UP DOCK UP DOCK UP!!!!
Me: Why? I got a powerfull Drake, and what's a spike, doesn't sound that bad is it a frig-
*30 Seconds Later*
Me: Oh THAT'S a spike... o_O

Some time later, stopped counting by then:

Buddy of mine: lololol, found some hulks in the local belt lololol...
Me: I got a fresh batch of cormorants finished, anybody want some? :)
*2 Minutes Later*
Me: lol, never thought we'd actually get all of them. xD

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

My absolutely first loss in eve was on another character, account I tried out maybe three years ago. I wanted to be a smuggler so I used to move tobacco and anti-biotics around in low-sec. Using my full out cargo, no tank Mammoth. In retrospect I'm truly amazed that the mammoth survived for as long as it did.

I had amazing luck with that thing. FIlled to the brim with anti-biotics I jumped into a camp in Old Man Star. Though - yup this is it. Then queue Orca loosing his gate cloak right behind me. What finally got that mammoth was a Talos on the undock in some Amarr low-sec. On that last trip it broke even.

Get on Comms, or die typing.

First loss was my new myrm in low sec while flying one of many " Damsel in Distress" against a cloaky proteus. I happened to have fitted thermal/kinetic hardeners and a cap stable rep...so it lasted forever...

my first PVP experience was getting station camped by a hi sec wardeccer. I undocked and died. Reshipped and grabbed a couple of corp mates. We warped in and died.

Much fun was had by all.

I assume the guy that popped us was either impressed a bunch of noobs had the stones to come in guns blazing, or he was just grateful for 'content' because after the battle we had a nice little chat and he reimbursed our losses :)

Fleet mining ops just didn't have the same draw after that.

My first loss was a Merlin somewhere in 0.0. Lord Zap and his m0o Corp. cronies (at the time) arrived at the station just as I had undocked. When I re-docked I saw my Merlin in spacedock for a brief instant before it quite suddenly turned into a pod. That was so long ago I can't even find it on the killboards.

It was hilariously embarrassing because while I was typing something along the lines of "shall we play cat and mouse," my ship was already destroyed. Lord Zap promptly responded "Looks like I already won." Lol

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.

*Corp mate finds wormhole*
"Guys, do...do ye want to do something silly?"

*me in my invincible maller I just got into"
"Hell yeah!, let's go **** up some wormhole people!"

Well the long and short of it is , In our unbeatable cruisers (about 5 of us) got thoroughly Tengued by a pair of wh blokes.....we didn't even get to the other side of the hole...

my first loss was a triple-tanked (yup) tristan somewhere in Verge Vendor lowsec (waaaay pre current KMs ... so it's been lost to time).

Gave a (suspect) newbie* his first taste of getting shot yesterday, and he got his pod outShocked. As annoyed as I am that I didn't get to see what's inside (note to self, pre-heat point next timeOops), still give him props for that. Hope he'll log in and be receptive to a chat today, rather than rage and stuff.

* Notes, because someone will scream foul ...

- Was not in a newbro system
- He was suspect before I got to that system
- Not 100% convinced he's really a newbro

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

On another character, high sec to low sec gate. Saw the flashing red icons, the notice and that I was scrammed and webbed. I think I got decloaked by something. Good practice warping my pod away.

My first loss was to one of you guys, bravely mining in a Navitas in Seyllin, lowsec, two years ago. I'd made about five good runs fully loaded with Jaspet and was on my sixth I think, when bam, I was exploding. Thought it was rats at first, but then I saw the red locking my pod... Oops

My first loss?

Over the years there have been so many that they have merged into a horrible litany of death and destruction.

A catalogue of "how not to do it" if you will.
With every loss I learn a valuable lesson. That lesson is that ships are valuable and getting more so every time I have to buy a new one.

Still the loss that stands out in my mind is getting ganked in a shuttle as I jumped into lowsec on my second day in game to have a look around and ran into a gate camp of 20 ships. I was mesmerised by the ships and bright flashy lights and trails of weapons fire that lit up my shuttle for a second before it disintegrated around me. That's when I learned of another eve tradition, the podding, the subsequent waking up in a new clone, and the obligatory evemail of gloating.

Ah happy days

I think the first loss to players was a drake. Mostly unfitted. . All random mods in cargo. I thought I'd go sightseeing in KBP.

At least I learned what bubbles are fairly early in my EvE career.

My first PvP experience was when a blinky came into my belt and tried to shoot my mining ship.
Unfortunately, I was already in warp by the time he landed, so he had to swear a lot in local instead.
