Why keep improving exploration?

Don't get me wrong, with lewt spew gone I might go back to the profession. But exploration is already in game and we could use something new.

Suggest the devs really check out the well thought out ideas in the New Idea forum. Of course I will put another plug out there for smuggling to be the next new profession in EvE, but at this point anything new will float my boat.

"Why" is because it's a really great entry-level (new player) part of the game that has growth opportunities as the pilots trains up and takes the training wheels off his T1 frigs and gets into more exciting ships to go deeper into space.

You might have noticed that more and more ships are coming into the game, or getting new variants, that promote this kind of game play.

Stay Calm and Keep Training.

Uh, Entry level? You obviously haven't gone very far into exploration. Exploration goes all the way to end game sites that are epic hard fleet sites.

Maybe if it worked properly (crap vomit) it would be fine to leave it. But it ain't finished yet.

I think he is referring to data/relic sites, which are pretty much static and just distribute items you can sell to other players, its actually fun to do as it doesn't actually generate ISK directly :)

Obviously you haven't put much thought into your post. Exploration scales, just like most other content.

It's an entirely viable career that players can jump into and make great isk week 1, and continue to grow in even as a (bitter)veteran player like yourself.

Give up OP. These forums are inhabited by special players. They can't go anywhere else, no game would accept them. So they live here and scream about any changes that take place..

Also...I'm not me Lol

I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe...  Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those... moments... will be lost in time, like  tears... in... rain. Time... to die...

And starts with those laughably easy little green sites in 1.0 and 0.9's.

Having a hard day with that wet paper bag, are we? Roll

Why keep improving exploration?

Why keep improving PvP?

Why keep improving PvE?

Why keep improving industry?

Why keep improving...anything?

Because it's part of the game. Focusing on just sole parts of the game and ignoring others is what gave us stagnation for almost 10 years.

I find exploration to be a lot of fun. It would be a shame if they didn't expand on it. Not only is it a great tool to teach people how to use scan probes, it also helps newer players make isk, and gives older players something to do in downtime. Its also worth noting that we kill a fair few explorers in our blue doughnut space that we wouldn't otherwise see if not for exploration.

Exploration is something that is still quite niche, and gives a lot of room for creativity since it splits into different mini avenues and professions, can be tied into lore easier, and offers more gameplay options. As opposed to say anoms or industry or missions there's a lot of, umm, vested interest, in keeping these things easy, available and farmable, so there's not much room to iterate on.

hmm well it was much of my game for years, now not at all since the revamp and I don't think it could be really repaired enough to catch my interest again as it did to really bring me to this game in the first place. They should have added the new stuff, not overwritteng the existing with different stuff. Rather than kittenizing the existing radar sites and such, the rat combat, they should have added entirely new sites that rely on the minigames and all that, leaving the old gameplay that worked well. More dynamic to the game rather than just taking the easy rout and rewriting existing content. Yeah, in that respect I much prefer actual "new" content/systems. Don't fix whats not broken?

Yeah, since my interest in it is 0, I'd rather see them work on an authentic Bounty Hunter system (SWG Bounty Hunter as an example system, but not verbatim). They slapped something in, called it Bounty Hunting, put it on their website as something awesome for newbies to start the game for, while everyone pretty much was just left with scratching their heads over it. Seemed to more be about just marketing, sell a dream to get new players through advertisements, some frosted cake for dessert, but the cake is a...

I'm in it for the money

some epic arc exploration sites that actually have game changing consequences would be cool

for example an epic arc where you gather the components to build a stargate and then you have to find the co'ordinates to earth using the old broken eve gate system as your point to build your stargate in. then ccp could eventually add the earth solar system when the first player manages to complete the epic arc

It would indeed be a sad day - it's knowing there are always risks and competition that keeps those of us doing exploration on our toes

Really wouldn't want it to get dull and boring
