"I have read and understood the MoTD"

This is a very simple idea that comes from the number of times I've heard people say "Read the ******* MoTD!!" over the years.

Problem
N00bs not reading the MoTD

Solution
Arrow When setting the MoTD fleet bosses should have the option to tick a little box that says "require confirmation that user has read and understood the MoTD".
Arrow If the box is ticked chat functionality is suspended for new players joining the fleet
Arrow In order to restore chat functionality, players must tick a little box at the end of the MoTD that says "I have read and understood the MoTD"

You could as well rephrase the text to: "I have scrolled past your wall of text and ticked the box."

If people are not reading it now, they won't read it with the tick box either.

And what happens when I reload MotD?

Will there be an option to permanently disable like most warnings etc?

While I see the benefit this would annoy the cr*p out of me.

Counter-solution: -10 repeat-offending noobs that can't read the MotD and kick from fleet.

Kay, admitting I'm a noob here.

What's a MotD?

Message of the Day?

Never seen any of those that conveyed any important and/or useful information.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

That's right MoTD means "Message of The Day". They are important in many fleets as FCs use them to inform pilots what ships they should bring and where the fleet is forming up (for example).

Doesn't work....checking off is not a sign of reading and/or understanding.

I work in IT. I push via GPO the nice message that says this is company/government computer, use for work purposes, we reserve the right to monitor, we can maintain as needed at our discretion (not all system maintenance rates me working after hours or sometimes your system needs to be worked on right now now), blah blah blah....

this message over 1000 people agree to daily when click ok.

this message many don't read.

As evidenced when we do our admin stuff they emo rage we can't do this to THEIR computer. Or they whine about company pushed background.

So I being a smart ass, yet tactfully so, sometimes have them log off, start to relogin and read the nice little login screen message. Some still fight after this even after reading the notice.

Although this is a noble suggestion, I don't think it would realistically do anything. Mainly because how many times do you read through a entire EULA when you are installing a game?

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.
