A few of the guys had a pretty cool adventure this evening, sadly I missed out because I was busy scrubbing it up offline at the time. But since they got all the fun I figured I'd share the tale for them here where I can at least forum-wh*re on it. Bear

As written by fido on reddit.

RIP Mobile Depot. Straight

The following is a copypasta of the AAR that I wrote for our forums. It is guaranteed to contain spelling errors and various other mistakes, so please direct your rage to Winthorp in game.

So, I get a few pings that look something like this:

(9:59:14 PM) Braxus Deninard: Server Broadcast EVERYONE LOG ON CAP ESCALATIONS IN STATIC

(9:59:25 PM) Braxus Deninard: Server Broadcast form armor t3's need neuts need dreads

(10:03:07 PM) Braxus Deninard: Server Broadcast log on log on guys 2xthanatos 2xmoros in the site we need more

I had just gotten home, jumped on comms and was asked to commit my carrier. We are light on numbers, but the hostile fleet is lighter, and farming to boot. We go with what we have (8 people).

Thanks to some nice scouting, we get a warp in at 0 on their capitals. They are extremely close to finishing the site, so we decide to go with what we have, hoping for the best and killing them before they can bring reinforcements. We form up on the static, and get an Interdictor to warp to them and bubble up while the caps are in warp to the static. All goes according to plan, our dic lands, drops bubbles, and our subs + Nidhoggur + Moros jump, and initiate warp to the site. Sith follows in in short order, and is in warp before the first friendly capitals land. On landing, the enemy dreads (2 Moros) lock up and primary me (Nidhoggur). Knowing what they had in advance, I have fit tank for Kin/Therm, so I manage to take them with ease. Their webber, a Loki seems to decide it's all a bit much for him, and bails as quickly as he can.

This leaves us with:

Friendly: Moros, Naglfar, Nidhoggur, Legion, Devoter, 2x Loki, Flycatcher

Hostile: 2x Moros, 2x Thanatos, Mobile Tractor Unit

We overpower the first Moros quickly, as it is already half armor, but out of siege. The Tractor Unit puts up a valiant fight, but succumbs to our mighty dreadnaughts. The rest of the capitals fall in short order, and we loot the field.

This now leaves us with the problem of extracting our 3 capitals, as well as our subcaps and hard earned loot. We begin by crashing the already crit static with our Devoter. After scanning, we find a C5 with a static C3, and decide it may be worthwhile getting the subcaps out via the C3. Upon further scanning, we find another C5 connected to the static, which belongs to none other than Quantum Explosion. We debate back and forth a little, until finding a nullsec hole that was in a good spot directly off the QuEx hole. Seeing a small amount of activity in the hole, we decide to go for it. We warp our Capitals to the static, jumping through as we hear reports of a Marmite Purifier jumping out of the QuEx hole. We decide to proceed as planned, as the subcaps split off to go for the C3 hole, while our capitals warp to the QuEx hole.

Mid warp, we get the call stating that a QuEx Legion has just jumped out of their hole, and we begin to quietly worry. It is now too late to back out, so we go balls in and jump all our capitals. This is where things get a little hairy, as a Tengu belonging to Marmite either uncloaks or warps to the hole that we have just collapsed, as we are aligning our asses off to the nullsec. Sith and I are just about aligned and in warp, but Brax is looking a little less likely to make it. As my speed changes, I'm relieved to see myself and Sith enter warp. Brax reports that his Moros is yellow boxed by both the Tengu and Legion, as his speed still climbs.

The inevitable happens. Brax calls out point on his Moros. He drops his depot in order to attempt refitting to warp core stabs, but it is quickly destroyed by the hostile T3's on grid. As Sith and I land on the nullsec hole, we mash D-Scan to see if there is any chance of saving our trapped Moros. We see more ships beginning to log on, including an Archon and Armageddon sporting the QuEx tags. It looks hopeless, and as Sith is unable to do anything, he jumps out to safe up the Naglfar he is flying. He asks me to drop a depot, refit my carrier for a full rack of warp core stabs, and risk warping back to Brax to allow his refitting and survival.

My depot drops, and I wait out the 1 minute anchoring timer while abusing my D-Scan button. I see a hostile tagged Moros appear, followed by 2 more, taking the enemy capital count up to 4, supported by various subcaps. Surprisingly, we see no HIC or Dic, so the decision is made and I refit, scoop my depot, and align back to Brax. I enter warp, feeling the seconds tick by while my D-Scan window sees it's ultimate use realised. I drop out of warp on grid with Brax, with D-Scan still being clear of any ship that could potentially drop a bubble. Our Moros refits his lowslots as quick as he can, while I begin aligning back to the nullsec hole, quickly catching up to the Moros' speed.

Inevitably our notification windows light up, as the hostile T3's adjust their targeting to the new threat of my carrier on field.

Our Moros, now being not pointed, and less tanky, warps off as his warp core stabs come online, and the targets are redirected.

I hit D-Scan one final time, and hit the Warp to 0m button on the bookmark, as I hope that a Dic doesn't land on field. My speed reaches 75%, and my carrier glides into warp, leaving an undeniably mad Tengu and Legion sitting on the now crashed C5 wormhole bookmark.

Both in warp, we rejoice, but know we aren't out of danger yet, as the exit wormhole into nullsec has be reduced in mass by our single Naglfar jumping out. On landing at the hole, we decide that the Nidhoggur will be the first to jump, while the Moros strips it's more expensive modules and puts them in the carriers fleet hangar for safety. I jump the Nidhoggur, as Brax waits on the other side holding his breath. I hear his voice sounding somewhat defeated, telling me that he thinks it has collapsed. I load grid on the other side and wait as I break my cloak in order to warp away and make a safe, watching the steady icon my on overview. No notification pops up, and I tell Brax to jump in a somewhat loud voice.

His Moros jumps, and the wormhole gives one final shudder and collapses behind him. Now relatively safe, we both catch our breath, while warping to a safe spot, and refitting one final time to a cloaking device each.

The final tally for the night stands as follows:

Wins

Losses

If you disagree with that happening, maybe you should do something about it. They're just carebears, should be easy ganks right?

Confirming this was one of the more fun nights I've had in a while and a good way to end the weekend.

Massive shout out to Fido who has giant balls and was willing to warp his carrier back in to save his corpmate in need.

P.S As a future note I must remember the skill fuel conservation is not the skill jump fuel conservation.... Yeah let's leave it at that LMAO

Gotta say when you said Mobile Depot, was expecting the story to end something like "OMG they were all Officer fit but the Depot stole all the loot and it didn't drop when we popped it."

For something that basically boiled down to "ganked some caps (LOL at the fits) and got shot at when we tried to leave but escaped anyway" it was a good read.

7/10 would read again.

Darling, I think the tittle would look better if you add "out" at the end.
