New Compare (components, ships) tool

the compare tool has been around since I started at CCP(2007). I think it should be easier to access because I find it pretty useful (in a meeting on Friday, I actually asked few of my co-workers if we could make it soSmile)

and you can drag other stuff into that window too (you are supposed to be able to do it from the market, but I'm not sure if it's actually working)

Are we maybe not talking about the same thing P... you open this window from the "variations" tab, which you were always using to compare stuff, but never noticed the "compare" button? P
to be fair, it might stand out a bit more now because there are now 2 buttons ("view market details" was just added)

Nice. When I read this thread I started Eve and had a look if something changed and I wondered if it's possible now to drag other items into the compare window but to no avail, maybe I am doing something wrong? However that would be most sweet and I hope this feature comes soon.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

You should be able to drag stuff from your hangar/cargo (and could last time I chekced) , and you should be able to do it from the market too (I'll take a look tomorrow what's up with that Smile )

Fitting screen works, market doesn't for me. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Looks like it's working from cargohold, hangars and the fitting window, but not from the assets window, market or ship modules (the ones next to your cap display)

I had never noticed it there prior to this expansion, likely because I rarely check the variations tab for anything.

Can we have a compare people tool? I like being able to compare crop histories and it would be very useful, or let me open more than one show info window at a time.

You can already do that by either unticking "Try to Use Existing Info Window if Any" under Options -> General Settings or by pressing Shift while opening the second (third, ...) info window.

Someone should change this thread's title to "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About EVE * But Were Afraid to Ask "

So wait you can now drag stuff that have no variations into the compare window and it will try to compare it then?

Wait, I've been using the attributes tab on items and stacking the show info for years and flipping back and forth btwn the stacked windows to compare stuff and there was a button for it?

I've been using the compare tool FOR YEARS. It's annoying when you forget to close the tool and try to open it from another show-info window. Instead of clearing the current results, it merges the two results together, so that you are comparing two different sets of modules together - i.e. comparing siege launchers to shield hardeners.
