Pilots;

I'll freely admit I had thought simply to mark this anniversary with reflection, a day taken to contemplate. There is, however, clearly desire for us to come together to mark this event, and what it means to us as each year passes.

To that end, I will be hosting an informal gathering at 1900 hrs on the 25th at Malkalen station, aboard the PTSV Yamabushi. This will be accessible by NeoCOM via the channel, 'Yamabushi sanctuary.' Please note that I have no plans to give a speech, but will instead solicit words. Let's discuss our plans for the coming year, and discuss the future of Gariushi's legacy both for Ishukone and the State more broadly.

Mr. Gord, if you're thinking to attend, I may want to discuss low security space with you...? Likewise, Otsito-haani, you may be interested in recent rumors...?

Addendum; please note that standard security procedures will be followed. Weapons will not be allowed, and nanotechnological or cybernetic augmentations will be screened before boarding. I've instructed my security personnel to be lenient in allowing visitors aboard, but if you are concerned about admittance please contact me beforehand.

Rumors is it? I'll be there with bells on, and thank you for the invitation. The security precautions shouldn't be a problem as my personal security implants only have enough yield to make me make a funny face before falling over. All registered and verifiable by security, I assure you.

I apologise, but I won't be able to attend in person, as I have a prior arrangement on that date. I will send a courier with a wreath of kresh leaves.

Andreus Ixiris > A Civire without a chin is barely a Civire at all.

Pieter Tuulinen > He'd be Civirely disadvantaged, Andreus.

A reminder, pilots; the gathering is in just under four hours, accessible for telepresence via NeoCOM channel, 'Yamabushi sanctuary.' Shuttles have been arranged for those visiting from other locations, and you may contact my staff if you have particular transport needs.

Please excuse me, I was unable to visit, because at that time we were trying to defend a system against the onslaught of gallentean occupants.
You know, if all those, who actually were claiming to be loyal to the State or Caldari on words, could actually do something to defend Caldari systems against gallentean oppression, we wouldn't be losing systems so easily.

I completely missed this, due to expecting a separate thread to announce it, as per previous memorials.

Though to belatedly answer your question, Makoto, I'm fully highsec capable. I even base not far from Malkalen.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

The time inevitably comes - and in the fast-paced life of a capsuleer, comes quickly - that memorials no longer seem quite so relevant or necessary.

For myself, I processed my grief and my feelings on the matter some time ago. Big displays of memory no longer seem so appropriate. This year, I preferred just myself, the stars, candlelight and water, and a moment of reflection.

There are people alive today who would not have survived the attack on Malkalen if not for my training as a surgeon. In a few weeks, an orphaned little boy whom I personally recovered in his pressurised crib from a depressurised residential unit will reach his seventh birthday and will start receiving the academic sponsorship I set up for him. This year, the station was rebuilt, amid Ishukone recording a highly profitable year.

For once, Diana Kim has hit upon a spark of the truth: Going forward, our most appropriate tribute should be deeds. Mens Reppola has honoured his predecessor by rebuilding Ishukone. Foreign relations remain strained but stable. Rhetoric and quotations have now become an indulgence rather than an appropriate tribute.

I don't intend to ever forget the events of six years ago. There are questions, not least surrounding Alexander Noir, that I would be very interested in learning the answers to. But to borrow a proverb I once heard, if you keep looking over your shoulder then you'll bump into a tree. Time to tone down, face the future, and work.

Whilst I applaud the sentiments, this year's gathering was a lot less about laying wreaths of Kresh in space while looking grim in our dress grays and a lot more about suuolen getting together for a few drinks and some shop/personal talk.

Perhaps that was for the best.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

A wise woman once told me as regards the Amarr faith, that it is often those who quote the Scriptures the most whom likely know the least how to live by them. In much the same way I think, those who take every opportunity to try and impress how Caldari they are, likely know the least what it is to live by the tenets and ideals that define it.

Mr. Stitcher is hurt.
I wonder, how many of your gallentean lovers I have killed during the war? Who of them made you to betray your people, and hide from service to the State in some Maker-forsaken wormhole?

Rebuilding?!
Under Gairushi the Ishukone was loyal corporation. But after his death, when it got under Reppola's rule, all this time Ishukone was conflicting with the State. All this hostilities towards Ishukone and from Ishukone towards other State corporations.
While Gairushi was building Ishukone, Reppola has been destroying it.

But traitor citizens love traitor CEO. I just hope you all will die before you do real harm to the State.

Funny kind of "destroying", turning the corporation's profits around and rebuilding its headquarters via a series of extremely shrewd lateral-thinking deals with the Intaki, Mordu's Legion, the Federation Senate and, apparently, the Minmatar Republic.

Have you forgotten that the State is a formal alliance of corporations? The objective is profit for collective prosperity, an objective which Reppola-haama has fulfilled with aplomb. Politics are the vehicle for profit, the means to the end, not the end themselves.

A Caldari would understand that.
