Combat Drone Operation refund after Kronos

CCP, can you please either confirm or deny if we will be recieving refunded SP for CDO post-patch?

As there have been several threads about this, and every single poster claiming a refund should not be given has been refuted and gone silent. Even Tippia had no rebuttal and that guy has an argument for everything.

There will be no SP refund for CDO. It is being split into light/medium drone skills. You will get those skills at whatever level of CDO you have trained at the time of the split. As a (potential) bonus, you get the two new skills at an even higher level if your SDO skill (which is being renamed to Drone Avionics) outranks your CDO skill.

Ignoring people that whine continuously does not constitute being refuted. You have nothing to be refunded for.

The stupidity around this place baffles me every single day. Ignoring the semantics about what skill exactly is being split, a skill is being split and you are receiving 2 new skills in return for it at the level you trained the old skill at. The other drone skills are merely being renamed.

Where on earth did the notion of a refund come from?

The notion of a refund comes from the fact that Fozzie has said that the highest of either Combat Drone Operation or Scout Drone Operation will be taken for when the new skills come in.

This has led some people to believe that they deserve a refund for training up Combat Drone Operation due to what the Dev Blog said.

Of course, they probably won't get a refund, because either way their skill points will be going up after the patch.

Exactly right. CCP did drone users a favor by giving them light/medium drones at the max level of either SDO or CDO . . . and now whiners are trying to internet lawyer some sort of SP refund.

This was honestly the best way for CCP to handle things if they wanted to continue to permit users of T2 drones to still be able to use them post patch.

If the skill Combat Drones remains after the update and you still get some damage-bonus and Drone Link Augmentor II from it AFTER the patch (however the skill is called afterwards) everything is fine and you would not loose something even if you skill it now. In that case some confirmation from some official would be nice. As you see in this thread you still get links to dev-blog from others so there is enough confusion already.

If the skill Combat Drones would be removed and you skill it right now (because you read the dev-blog) even if you got Scout Drones already to V you loose skill-time because you skill something (twice) now that you already get with the update anyway. In that case the dev-blog is seriously misleading.

EVE has never rewarded people for not doing their research.

In this case, research being checking the relevant forum topics and being an active member of the community.

Changes aren't final until they hit TQ. And even then they're often not final.

But okay, let's go give out some SP to all the poor souls who jumped on an opportunity and lost the gamble because some change of plans.

Of course, all things being equal, that means CCP should also reimburse all the poor souls who invested their live savings into the capital rig market before the Jump Freighter overhaul was changed to use modules and lost every single penny.

But seriously, has this place reached such a level of entitlement that people start demanding SP refunds because... Well no, I'm not even gonna finish that sentence because people demanding SP refunds for just about anything is completely f*cking ret*rded.

Which actually just means that you don't have some concrete info so we could savely ignore your post if we do some serious research regarding what to do now, right? I did not ask for some refund so far because I'm still not sure how the skills are split and which skill contains Drone Link Augmentor II after the update. So before starting to engage windmills this would be interesting to know. Some Devblog says combat drones would be split up. Some forumthread says Scout drone is renamed.
