Anyone else enjoy Station Trading? What aspects do you enjoy?

I've only just started such things (when not blowing up some helpless pirates here or there); and I find it both deep and enjoyable.

The competition can be fierce. There is this almost... vicious enjoyment that is borne from having to keep your orders 'on top'.
Keeping track of spreadsheets is enjoyable. The planning, the coordination, and the risks. Profits are small at first as I dip my toes in such things. It really makes for a nice change of pace from mission running, anoms, and the CTA's. (not to mention the doldrums of mining). I am looking forward to keeping on top of things in my corner of space. Sure, its slow at first, but with good guacamole, comes good transactions ( I think! ).

Anyways, I am wondering, who here enjoys playing the market?
What aspect has you most engaged?

(I am not asking for trade secrets or the like, just what you enjoy. :) )

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear.

It depends on how an individual approaches it. For me, I play a long term game with the market, so it's essentially a form of passive income for me, not all that different from PI, really.

Counting the ISK. The rest of the machinations and manipulations are a pain in the Ar.... thing you sit on

PVPer that makes his ISK through the market reporting in!

I dislike station trading, but i love inter-regional trade and manufacturing.

What gets me hooked is:

- The feeling I'm actively contributing to the EVE economy, especially by ultimately providing pewpew tools to lowsec (that's where I sell)

- The thrill of hunting for and discovering high-margin trade routes and supply chains

- I love spreadsheets too (I always lovingly hand-craft my own)

- The challenge of maximising ISK/effort through smart spreadsheets (quick to use once setup correctly), efficient logistics and buying/selling materials and items that do not have that much competition (thus avoiding time-consuming 0,01-ISK games as much as possible)

- The fact that I can completely avoid PVE-grinding, since I hate it

- The satisfaction of making ISK through skill, research and 'smarts' instead of time-consuming grind

Make space glamorous! Is EVE dying or not? Ask the EVE-O Death-o-meter!

I love logging in or even just starting up EveMon and checking how many hundreds of million ISK I gained overnight.

Earning money while lying in bed is not just for hoes anymore! Cool

Margin trading was funish especially going back and forth with someone, then being a **** and jack the price up then pull out of that market. But usually the 0.01isk game gets tedious after awhile.

I enjoy it cause its educated {in theory but not always} gambling.
The sheer joy knowing I just made a bunch of isk, that would normally take a mission runner hours on hours of eye bleeding pain in high sec, in a few clicks & some cleverness.

I look forward to messing with inter-regional trade soon.

For now, it is just station trading. First time I have veered away from skilling my ships
and started skilling into market skills to make it cost less to update buy orders, and
to broadcast my buy/sell orders at longer distances. Hopefully it will help!

Its fun when you are starting out (first 10 bill) but after that it becomes tedious even though the "rewards" increase.

Edit - oh I see, you've really only just got started. Station Trading (Jita) is generally where you end up, not start from :)

1. making ISK

2. Knowing I pretty much dominate certain markets now.

3. Knowing I ninja other people's buy / sell orders.

4. Finding one form of pvp in which I own the 'I win" button.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

Paying the absolute minimum in fees and taxes.
Blinking wallet.
Making more isk while I'm out with my wife and kids for the weekend than most shmoes make grinding the hard way.
Role-playing the hand-rubbing merchant of /pol/ nightmares.
Knowing that I keep a small army of Red Frog pilots busy with my contracts on a weekly basis.

I like everything about it. It's just this massive, complex, player-driven thing that exists everywhere. You can put as much or as little effort into it as you like. Playing smart for <30mins/day can give you significant rewards.

Most of all, I like the ISK, as I'm sure we all do.
