Issues, Workarounds & Localization

Theme of this years expansions seems to be trader nerf. Let's list:
-stacking stopped stacking to existing order, instead stacking in random order
-stacking started to auto-sort
-renaming can started to auto-sort
-new font is both harder to read and takes more space
-optimize button on waypoints is broken

It used to be that when you got incoming delivery, they ended up to the bottom of your items list; then stacking stacked *the ones where a stack already existed* and left the remaining piles to the end of the items list. This way you could automatically split the items to those you already have in hangar, and to those you didn't.

Nowadays you need to move all the incoming stuff into some temporary can, wait up to 24h for API assets dump and then have custom software tell you which items were actually already fully stocked and can thus be move back to hangar and sold.

The font just makes less data to fit into the screen; and unlike chat, you can't change the size. Route optimization broken means you need to use some web service to calculate the optimal route, instead of just hitting "optimize" ingame.


In related theme, delivering multiple fitted ships got nerfed, too:
-renaming ship started to auto-sort
-assembling ship started to auto-sort
-auto-fit does not fit rigs

It used to be you could just assemble the ships one by one, rename ship, drag (stacks) of the modules needed for the fit to your hangar floor, press fit and be done. The master stacks, now temporarily on hangar floor, stayed in the end of the items list, so when all done, you could just move them back to your cans. Now you need to hand-pick just right amount from cans in the beginning, because otherwise the autosort will mix them with the stuff already in hangar.

All in all, if you fit like 5 identical ships at once, it takes approximate five times more clicks and typing to get there. These decifiencies take the fitting effort back to the levels it was before auto-fit feature, effectively countering any ease gained with the auto-fit feature.


To balance it out, let's list some trader love we have gotten on previous years:
-"view market details" option on "my orders" row context menu.
-EVE API for market transactions
-exporting market orders
-being able to sort orders by any column
-invention of first t2 haulers, then freighters

Especially the first item, view market details option, made trader workflow immensely smoother. All the rest pales in comparison to that.
