How Do I Search For Forum Posts That I Have Made?

I'm a 2009 player, but I've never been able to figure this out.

A few days ago I posted an ad in the recruitment forum. Then my computer was off line for a few days. I wanted to bump my ad and post an explanation of why I haven't been responding to in-game mail. I tried Search, and it found a few posts, but not the one I was looking for. So I had to go through 15 pages of posts in order to find it. Surely there is a better way.

From EVE Gate click on the "Profile" Tab. On that page, in the middle there are three tabs above your bio. One of them says "Latest Forum posts."

You can also use EVE Search which (in my opinion) often is more..reliable when searching the forums.

To add a little tip here, searching for your name will simply yield every post in which you are mentioned or quoted, but by adding the "author" bit to the URL, it will find all posts made specifically by you: http://eve-search.com/search/author/Xercodo

Edit: Alternatively the devs did finally implement a proper search on these forums when they added them in 2011 which you can access here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search

Open up the advanced options and put your character name in. You can even pick the specific forum section to search in. As far as I know, however, they don't have a wildcard search term so I use a single space, which should grab everything.

Make a post somewhere (or go back to the last "like" through the notifications thingy in the upper right)... then click your name... view posts.

It will start from the most recent post you made and go back in time.

When the forum search or eve-search fails, try Google:

New Forums:
https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aforums.eveonline.com+"Learned+Vagrant"

Old Forums:
https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aoldforums.eveonline.com+"Learned+Vagrant"

Add keywords as necessary. Like: recruitment 2014
