News reaches Gutter Press of a fabulous charity effort by Caille city socialites!

The fashion conscious ladies have decided that the residents of Matar are in dire need of their help !

"It was simply terrible, darling", said one socialite, "I saw on the Scope news, some interviews with some Minmatar politicians, about some trivial matter, and the poor dears were wearing clothes right out of last century, darling."

"Indeed so, dear", said another socialite, "I said to my friend Julia, at the opera, I said 'Julia darling, those poor Minmatar have no style', so we decided to do something about it"

The socialites are now collecting garments donated by Federation citizens, and these will be shipped to Pator as soon as possible.

Minmatar residents of Caille are less impressed by these actions.

"Clothes are for keeping the rain out, and your bits in, who cares if the style is decades old?" asked one Caille ethnic Minmatar resident.

Gutter Press will keep an eye on these developments.

Well, when you have such impressive doodles everywhere, you got to show them off. Can't hide them under haute couture.

I want to chastise them for "Grr Cultural Imperialism", but they've also inspired in my mind the image of Shakor in a too-short dress, knee-highs, and make-up; and that's just too funny not to forgive.

I don't know who's more stupid; Caille City socialites or the Minmatar who actually follow this sh*t.

I call shenanigans on this story. I grew up in Caille and I never ran across any of these sorts of condescending dilettantes. If they existed they'd be far too busy gossiping about who was having an affair with whom, where the best place for weekend brunch was or who the best plastic surgeon was to care about Matari fashion.

The Gutter press is a Gallentean publication that runs in the Federation.

Not a Matari one.

There are still people in the Federation who wish to send aid to us?

Huh.

Despite minmatar clothing habits are too revealing and indecent, gallentean clothes are in fact way worse.
I can't understand how respectable peoples could dress in either minmatar or gallentean "stylish" equipment,
what I have seen is outright indecent and disgusting.
Gallenteans are just forcing their indecent culture onto others.

And this is why the Federation must be destroyed.

Actually, Kyllsa, there are billions of people in the Federation who wish to send aid to the Republic.

Just they.. um... either have not much in terms of aid to send, or their "aid" ends up somewhere in Ani or Great Wildlands, respectively. ;)

The Minmatar I have the most experience with are the Northern Sebiestor and, to be honest, they dress warmly in several layers. I honestly don't think they dress indecently. When I dress in fatigue pants and a tee-shirt, I'm actually dressed more revealingly than most Northern Sebbies that I've seen.

Of course, Matari from warmer climes tend to dress more revealingly. Your mileage may vary.

Ah! So that's where the second-hand "haute couture" in Pator comes from! You shoud see one of those... *cough* boutiques, ms. Raker. It's an educational experience for someone who never left Luminaire, I assure you.

Given the nearly ubiquitous movement to remove outside influences from Matari culture I can predict that all these 'donations' are going to end up as shop rags or more likely, resold in the Federation with some beads sewn on as a hybrid/fusion style for ten times the initial cost.

I am not sure I met them, but I for sure know about brutors.
And Brutors are... just incredibly indecent.
Not like gallenteans, of course, but still.

I know what you mean, but I believe that Brutor come from a VERY hot place. Some people from warm places think that my cold weather gear makes me look like some sort of a snow astronaut, so I try to be a bit open-minded about the manners of dress that strangers adopt.

For sure, I've visited one of the places that Brutor settled when they left Pator and I don't blame them for not layering up. I do blame them for trying to settle a climate only marginally habitable by human beings - but then some of them say the same thing after experiencing even light snow for the first time.
