Why I should quit EVE.

Gaming is a hobby, who cares how often you're online. If you enjoy it then whatever. Most ppl sit on their fat ass and watch TMZ or some other bullshit. Eve is better for your mind than that.

Also, why bother making a post about this.

I plan on living forever.......so far, so good.

I just picked up 30 Liters of Bacon Greece.

I am going to be fine.

I don't even AFK ingame all day, if I'm not doing something I log out. Over a year online is ********. (this doesn't include time on the forums, which makes it even worse) I came here escaping the time demands of WOW in 2004, and it's just as bad!

It was a sign from God that today the adjoining C2 had a Hisec exit which lead to my old home system. I took the opportunity to clean out most of the station and moved it to Jita for sale. 230 sell orders later..

Once the last of the caps is finished in the WH I'm going to sell the WH corp lock stock and barrel, PLEX my accounts for a year and go get a life.

fuckininternet...

I'm thinking the same, after two years of sliding deeper into the slime pit.

My stuff is not available to griefers, PvPers (is there a difference?), or people who ask for it.

Big smile

Have a nice day.

I've been trying to quit smoking for a couple of years, and have heard good and bad things about Chantix.

Good: It will make cigarettes tastes like garbage, and smoking them will be a complete hassle. You won't get a "buzz" off them, and you won't really crave them as much.

Bad: You might have really strange, disturbing dreams. You might sleep walk or have fugue episodes. It could cause liver damage. You might go completely bonkers forever.

I'm torn, because smoking is more damaging to my life than EVE ever could be. I don't power game, and have no interest in ever becoming that person again (I used to marathon game 18/7 on DAoC...that was stupid).

I was very concerned about taking them as well. I've just started the 2nd week. and so far they've done jackshit. Haven't even slowed down. I did have some success with the inhalers that look like tampons, 6 weeks straight stop. Got bored one day and went for a ride, bought a pack and it was like I never stopped. You do get some funny looks on the street with one hanging out your mouth, I didn't realise what they looked like until a mate said something.

When you've been smoking a long time, for me atleast, you don't get any sort of buzz off them anymore. No bad dreams to speak of. I'm pretty borderline mentally at the best of times and my psychologist took some convincing to let me go on them, but she eventually came around so long as I keep my appointments, but the pills haven't had any noticable effects in this area. I've been pretty horny but that could be the Oxycontin, and having your prefered hand out of action is not fun during this time.

Try the inhalers, they are cheaper if your government doesn't subsidise the champix. Champix is the australin name for your chantix, same **** different name.

edit: was going to change australin but then decided it's phonetically correct and left it.

I went in for an OP recently, and despite my surgeon fully bitching at me about smoking, I ninja'd out in the gown to hide in the carpark to have one, up until like 30 mins before pre-med. I held them in my armpit so I could show the nurses empty hands, because they'd been told to not let me. I woke up about 2am from anesthetic and snuck out to a 2nd floor balcony where I had one only like an hour after coming around.

Apparently I still had a fair bit of analgesia in me, because that **** rocked my world. Could barely stand or walk, and man was I sweating. Felt like I was going to chuck, laying down and the room spun...good times.

How in the **** does somebody pull 6 hours per day of eve for that long??? I could probably pull the OP's 3.5/day if I neglected all my other non-important life activities....but 6/day, holy ****.

Forget "Can I have your stuff?", how about "Can I have your awesome life of leisure???"

I've never had a problem controlling my gaming habit. When EVE (or anything else) starts to feel like a chore, I just leave a long skill in queue and go have fun somewhere else. I've let my sub lapse a few times most recently let it slide for 18 months due to traveling a lot for work and being more fed-up than usual with EVE.

So basically eve, and allot of other games for that matter, are full of people who are trying to escape reality.

But then again, www.eveisreal.net... must be true.

Did you guys really troll through your Eve logs to find this information? It seems the info from a thread two years ago is outdated and CCP is passing this value some other way....

Or did someone write a C# program to get this info? Because I can't find it anywhere in my logs :/

Edit: I r dumb, found this post: Duh

Wow, something like 57 days played. I figured it'd be less. Eve goes from being hugely dull to incredibly fun, so I either log off after 30 minutes of ship-spinning or get to do something fun and play for 4 hours.

Or troll forums.

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

Is that all accounts, or just 1 of them? Either way - thanks for the post.

I thought I was doing bad (only 1 account here so a bit easier for me to add it up)

Account Creation: 9/13/2009
Logon Count: 1122
Time Online: 130d 2h 13m

130 days out of 821 days. Assuming 16 "productive" awake hours a day, vs 24...

That's 23.7% of my waking/productive time over that 2 years. Uph... Oh well, I do tend to go AFK for extended periods in the game some times but still; that's a chunk of time and I haven't played that much in a few weeks.

I'm not sure where in-game or on the forums you can check but the API has a call that'll give the info back - I used EVEHQ to pull it out. It has it in an account information window but there's also an "api checker" that lets you pick what API call to use from a dropdown list.

The API call is AccountStatus - it returns back a listing like:

paidUntil
createDate
logonCount
logonMinutes

So it tells you how long you're paid up on that account, when you created it, etc... Just math after that stuff.
