CCP.. Can you please stop making caldari ships symmetrical? =<

The Caldari ship design is supposed to be devoid of vanity if i remember correctly.. The Scorpion hull was really cool when it looked vaguely like a scorpion, its just silly now that it looks exactly like a scorpion.. It doesn't look BAD, just, silly.

Like this moa, it doesn't look bad at all.. But its lacking all personality, its extremely generic. And the condor just looks like you mirrored one side of it.

So what will be the prerequisites to inject the new Expedition Frigate skill?

Also, please continue making all Caldari ships look non stupid.

o/ Looking forward to the new changes.

The Condor has a vacant high slot which is useless really as with the Executioner: how about converting the 4th high slot into a low slot. Fitting specs remain the same. This would add a twist to the game.

no it will not. just everybody fitting nanos or adaptive plating in combat fits or more warp stabs or inertia stabilisers in travel fits.

Man, all ships in EVE are pure vanity. They are all meant to go by the "rule of cool", not common sense engineering. Thus, they are cool, and they are all especially silly from a realism point of view. Particularily the old terribly asymmetrical caldari ships.

I mean, they don't even have heat radiators. And let's not even talk about the thrust vectors not going through the center of mass... Poor eggers, they would be cooked alive by their own ship before they even start spinning though space uncontrollably.

Sorry, but If you want to see "function over form" or realistic spaceships and you're thinking of any EVE ship (or pretty much every popular sci-fi ship ever), you're doing it wrong. Straight

The new designs are more aesthetically pleasing but lose out in originality. The old ones were silly, kinda ugly, but artistically very original.

Neither of them make any actual sense function-wise. That's the only thing we can all objectively agree on.

" Hauler pilots are already PVPers " I fail to see how a freighter can be used in pvp until we can accually fit the damn ship with active / passive tank, Guns and point. or are able to deal out damage, or CCP should perhaps include some put some kinetic damage to the bumber that would allow the freighter to be able to take afew hit and at the same time deal some damage to the agressor.

until that happends haulers are not PVPers.

on a sidenote, i wonder when the pvpers will get a dubblenerf just like the haulers will get from this mess of a patch, it would be intresting to see the pvpers point of view on a similar dubblenerf applied to them.

People who haul stuff do so in a sandbox game where nobody is really safe anywhere. The only place you are not participating in any way, shape, or form to pvp is while ship-spinning in stations. And then again, you may be buying stuff in a station. Playing the market is part of a dynamic competition between players. Hence, PVP.

Furthermore, if we assume that what you are hauling doesn't have a net value of 0.00 ISK, then you are indirectly partaking in one of the aspects of PVP which, as I have mentioned quite clearly, isn't limited to stuff that involves warp disruptors.

Did you know that, for every soldier in an average military, there can be around 16 people, maybe much more, who are non-combat personnel and who are in charge of the massive amount of logistics work required by any form of warfare? Yes, they basically haul stuff all the time. Without firing guns. Ever. But they're still military, right?

In EVE Online, Haulers (even high-sec dweller... especially them, actually), take part in PVP by their hauling alone. Yes hauling, by itself, is a player VS player activity. You, sir, wether you like it or not, are hauling stuff so other people can eventually have the opportunity to get good fights or explode gloriously. Blink

And that's why freighters and industrial ships do need to have more options, so those who pilot them can better adapt to their specific tactical or strategic situations.

Edit: Sorry for the double-post. I'll paste all this in my previous post if this one is to be deleted.

Why no mention of Dominix redesign in the blog? Has it been cancelled/moved away from Kronos?

It never was part of Kronos

Correct, the Domi was not intended for Kronos and was something we decided to show at Fanfest to give a glimpse at what is potentially coming in future releases. We constantly work on ship redesigns but we tend to use them as something to do when there is downtime between tasks. There are of course releases where we put priority on the redesigns to align with other things such as balance changes by game design.

donkey and carrot

why showing it when it is not going to be released

Any chance of posting discarded/rejected design images somewhere? I'll bet the unused ones are still serious eye candy.

No, no, no... don't you dare. If you want asymmetrical go fly a Gallente cruiser. Symmetrical ships are lacking vanity and are more efficient for manufacture and design, which is very Caldari.

Plus they look sooo good.

New Typhoon is AWSOME!!! Worth resubscribe only to see that beauty. I guess CCP should create some penalty for those shooting at such a piece of art.

Not happy about the changes to Moa / Condor lines. Manticore is the only ship that I'd say was done "in the spirit of the original Caldari designs" and was tolerable in my mind...Scorpion, while good for someone who hadn't played since beta, it was a downer to see the change from the original design.

Caldari asymmetry had always tended toward an angular or sharp-lined theme...Gallente were asymmetric but favored curves or arcs.

I'll at least say that the new Condor image is recognizable as the original...similar to finding the similarities in a vintage 1960's Corvette with the modern variants. The Moa, however, doesn't have any apparent display of lineage with the exception of the "cockpit/fuselage" area. Looks fine, I guess, for someone who just started playing the game.

Seems like, in a game of "if I want to shoot lasers, I need to fly Amarr, even if I don't like the backstory on that particular race...if I want to shoot projectiles, I need to fly Minmatar...", a similar logic should have applied to "if I don't like the way Moa looks, fly something else...if I want the functions that the Moa has...I need to cope."

Oh well...if people have been wanting to change the Moa for years, I guess I was too busy playing the game and not on the forums discussing it. Otherwise I'd have raised my voice to keep the originals.

Is the Raven scheduled for a make-over too?

The raven has already been made over, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it's completely thrown out and made over again sometime in the future. All of you who would like to keep the old designs are not alone. Yes, you are outnumbered and/or outshouted by the loudest voices. A lot of people are excited to see the new designs and it wouldn't be fair to take those away from them, just like it's not fair to take our favorites away from us. So I propose a way for them to get theirs and us to get ours.

Give us the ability to purchase vintage hulls.

If you like any of the older ship models (original artwork) better than the redesign of your favorite hull and don't want them to be lost forever, support ship customization and this feature request.
